Track day NED - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

Anyone up for a track night in the spring? Probly a couple weeks after the track opens? It be nice to meet people on the forum and check out their cars. I have a car club on the Northshore (MA) so I can also get other cars in the mix. Some of the cars in the club are a 730whp 350z, 640whp 996, soon to be 600whp gsx, 630whp rsx type s, a few 400 whp sti's, and a bunch of other quick cars. I think we could have a sweet time

I plan on running with the BMWCCA at at least one track event this year as well as the autocross events.

I'd be up for it. My company is a sponsor of the track. Perhaps I can get us a deal, although the $20 bucks to run your car isn't bad.

Off you are talking about running on a track, bmwcca Boston chapter is an excellent place to start. They maker you take a day of advanced driving skills first, them you can join then on track, say art nhms.

There's a North east track day listing on this Forum under track/racing/auto cross.

I will try to go a few times with comscc and scda1 this season

Quite a few of us do track days, and more of us do autoX (which we generally post the calendar when it's announced).

Not as often do we do the drag strip.

I'm sure people would be up or all events though.

Im going up the first couple days for the test and tune they have and then maybe a couple of the street nights. i still have yet to see another 1er up there and i went up maybe 10 times last season..

Last year, Fridays were the busiest Street Nights. In prior years, the busiest was Wednesdays. Doesn't matter to me which day, however.

Either day works for me.

What is required for our cars? I know some strips require a drive shaft loop, no wheel centercaps, etc.

They are very easy to deal with. You can run your car the way its setup with no issue. You will just need a approved helmet.

What if you don't have a helmet/don't want to buy one...I guarantee I go faster on normal roads (yes I'm an idiot but its fun) then I ever will at the track...?
