BMW 1M vs Nissan GT-R (at the Ring)

Not a bad effort from the 1M...

Interesting, but the traffic spoilt it.

Can we confirm both cars are stock/ or at least what their set ups were during this video? Just too many factors, simply changing the tires would cause a substantial difference even when comparing each car to themselves. Is the Skyline a fair match for the 1M and visa versa? What are the actual results when comparing stock cars?

Great video, and thanks for sharing! I am surprised the 1M hung so well/ held it's composure for so long...which is why I am even more curious about this now! LOL

Really

C'mon, man!!! Entertaining vid, but it's only comparing drivers and not the performance of each car. The oldest/slowest GT-R is over 30 seconds faster than Sport Auto's 1M time of 8:15.

The 1M has Michelin Pilot Cup+ (semi-slick).
Anyway, thx for the link, nice vid !
The 1m is pretty close until Ex-Muhle.

I've no idea on the specs of each car and / or the ability of the drivers piloting them. I just posted as I found it interesting to watch as I thought others on here would

Had a GT-R before the 1M. There no actual value in this video except the entertainment. The GT-R eats 1M for breakfast, speed wise, but the 1M is still more fun to drive.

That GT-R is not stock either, at least the exhaust has been partly replaced. The tone is way to pitchy for being a stock version. I could be wrong, but all my senses tells me that aint stock 100%.

Good to see the 1M mixing it with the big guns!

Great video. The 1M seems to me very well driven which then reminds me how crazy the 7.45 min. BTG time was with Advevo chasing the M3 GTS, also in the traffic.

All down to driver, good effort,GTR's are awesome cars, driven one myself, did consider one,but had enough of tuned Jap cars after my 600+ hp Evo.Gtr should leave the 1M,no comparison, always good to mix it though with faster cars
Going to the ring in may,not looking to be a hero though, only done 13 laps, lots to learn, never mind the car which is new to me as well

GT-R seemed so much more faster, and more controlled coming out of the corners!

Have you ever been to the Ring ??
Maybe the Gt-R guy has only few laps, and still 'discovering' some curves....
If the 1M guy knows well the track, he will brake later and take all good lines, so that's why he can follow the Nissan.
I know some guys with small cars, and not much power (130-140hp) but they have done 600 & 300 laps on the Nürburgring, and I can tell you that they will blow 90% of rookies with //M's or Porsches....

If you want to know, they're with a 136hp Lotus Elise and a lightweight blue Renault Twingo, they are very fast !
All I want to say is that you can have a very fast car like a 600+ Godzilla, but if you don't know the Ring, you will need something like 15-20 laps to know all the sectors very well........
You can't push your car to the limit if it's your 1st time there, even if you're a GT5 king....
Barriers are very close to the track and unfortunately, crashes happens all the time.
