Holy crap, a drain bolt. Here I was thinking that BMW forgot how to make such things.

That is the filler hole. There is no drain hole, unless it's the M diff.

no big deal. insert rubber hose from hand pump, proceed to pump.

do this *outside* the garage because diff fluid is.. um.. powerful.

for a hundred bucks off i'd scoop this up if i hadn't christmas'd a bit too hard. someone needs to grab this

Doesn't properly remove particulate matter though. My plan is to run the diff until the "lifetime" fill does what it does best and blows. Then replace it with a real LSD.
