This is actually the most affordable 1m/135i kit out and plastic is the desired material because it will bend/flex to fit and doesn't tend to shrink during the molding process (same material as OEM)

so to clarify this is absolutely direct bolt on replacement? is it wider like the actual 1M bumper? whats the difference between the bolt on and the one you have to modify??

if it is bolt on, it is not wider. It has to mate up to your stock 135i fenders. Their prototype bumper is likely made exactly as the LTMW 1m/135i bumpers where they use the grill off of a 1M bumper graphed onto a 135i bumper.
