Performance Power Kit 2 Question
I realize dealer has to do programming, but has anyone installed the hardware (additional radiator, fan, etc) on their own? If so I'd appreciate knowing how the job was (fit, problems, etc.,), how long it took and any install tips. Thanks

33914,
Sent you an email with the instructions. Dack, Thanks for all your help. Happy I can finally return the favor. Regards, Pig Farmer BTW -- I'm logged on with an iPad and can't figure out how to cut and paste the pdf file containing the instructions from an email to a post. Anyone know how this can be accomplished? This may be good information to have on the site. |

I've just purchased the kit (less the tune) and will be fitting it myself, so would be interested on hearing about install tips as well. Unfortunately the kit does not come complete & you still need to order parts specific to your model. Additional parts I believe I need to order for my RHD '08 135i coupe include;
51742157684 Air duct (1) 11122163613 Auxiliary cable for Power Kit RHD (1) 67618370818 Rubber Mounting M6X10 (2) |

You have to click on: "Go Advanced" (the button to the right of the "Quick Reply" at the bottom of the thread... Then you will see the menu tabs above where you write your text. CLICK on the "paper clip" tab, a new dialog box will open and you can upload any files (pics, pdf's, ect) to that post. After you attach the files, then click UPLOAD. IF you want you can place the "files" by clicking on the paper clip icon again within that post. Hope that helps. ![]() |

Against my better judgment, I ordered PPK 2, should be here Friday. My plan is to install hardware myself. Seller was nice enough to send me the instructions before I decided to purchase. Instructions make hardware install look pretty straight forward and like a fun project. However, it seems it might be somewhat challenging to do the job really well as, at least for me, it's hard tearing up a perfectly good new car. At this point, scariest part seems to be the 1 wire you have to "cut" in the ebox (it took me awhile to figure that out as instructions say "separate") and properly refilling radiator after you install the replacement hoses. If anyone's interested, I'll (after I get Seller's permission) send the instructions and I'll also try to make a short write up on the project.

What is actually included in the hardware?
Water cooler, air duct, auxillary cable.... Did I missed anything out? Thanks.

It comes with the auxiliary radiator and related hoses and mounting bracket, an 850w fan to replace the 600w stock fan, a new fan relay and wiring harness, brackets to relocate the horns, new spark plugs, and the code for the software flash (which the dealer will need when recoding you ECU). The air ducts are sold separately since the PPK2 fits on multiple cars with different bumper styles. RHD vehicles require an additional wire harness.

Just got mine PPK2 installed.
Definitely feels stronger than stock, more mid range and top-end power.

Did you have any throttle lag issues prior to the install.

Compared to stock, the lag is greatly reduced. Very responsive as soon as I step on the accelerator.
I have tested it on hot weather conditions with the PPK2, very minimal lag. No heat soak issues or knock from the car. that is my personal opinion on my car, could be different on each individual.
