Loved my PSS's except for the wear on the outside edges of the tire without a camber kit, but word is the new Dunlop's are the shiz. The old ones where close to even in my book (performance, wear, noise, etc.) so if it was me I might just use price to decide. Be careful though with the sizing the Dunlops are a bit wider. 235's might rub on the strut on the inside, where as the PSS's at 235 fit just fine for me. Both top notch tires though.

These tires will be very different. Disclaimer; I have not driven on the ZII's, but have used the Z1's.
I drove the PSS's during the 2011 season and found them to be great tires... when warm. They were super solid on the track and were even very good in the rain. The selling point of the Z1's and the ZII's is that they have a massive amount of grip even when cold. They work really well for autoX events because of the big gaps between the short runs. I've been on the AD08's recently and they're a lot like the Z1's. Lots of cold grip, even better with some heat. |

street - PSS
autox - star specs track - RS3 PSS tends to have more tire life on the street than star specs or RS3s (based on the average forum member feedback). Though I know some people can get a lot of miles on the street with star specs. RS3 will get chewed up very fast, but they are great from what I hear. Never ran them.

Found the complete opposite of this, Direzzas hated the cold more than PSS but lasted much longer that PSS when warm out and on the track/auto x.

Star specs are great but super noisy. Bought a set for my wife's a3. Had to get rid of them cause of the noise. Posted on Craig's list and sold them in less than 2 days. People want these things because they are good at the autox. Have pss now on my 135is. Only 2k miles on them but seem to be very good so far.

just throwing my experience in... ive had star specs for over 10k miles and still in the green... all street use(no track) grip is fantastic... i also have BMW do my allignment, so that may add to the life.. i have a lead foot but i like to consider my driving style "smart" aggressive, if that makes sense..

The ZII's are going to be substantially faster at an AutoX or track day, if you're just going to daily drive the car, get the Michelins.
