Not sure if you're already signed up, but you should check out the local regional forum and sign up in Grayson's meet/drive thread, pretty soon were all going to be meeting up from around the Bay Area and heading on a nice drive.

Okay. Total newbie question. What are the benefits on a BOV? I love the sound but is it bad for our cars?

There's no benefit and its not bad for the car as long as its installed properly. Just instead on the extra boosted air being vented back into the intake charge pipe it's vented to the atmosphere and that's why you can hear it so much better. Lucky you you have an n54 so you can install one. Us n55 guys can't.

The first shop I went to wasn't what I expected. I dropped the bumper off on a Friday and was called on Monday saying there was a problem and I drove back up to sf and we were talking back and forth and I got Irritated and just took the bumper home and went to drop it off at another shop and bumper will be done on Tuesday
