My car was heavily modded on slicks and i drive 10/10 most of the time on the track. As i said before, my DCT malfunctioned twice, and i am pretty sure it was tempr. related. The point is, you likely will not have any issues with DCT, if this car is not driven at the limit. Last edited by Groundpilot; 02-15-2013 at 11:24 AM. |

No thats not a Sunday drive. I did a 1:41.2 in a 2006 Cayman S with PSS9s -2.5 Camber, Swaybars and Hoosier R6 in Qualifying, POC class record. |

What he/she said...'hope your right'. As the OP I'm beyond committed now and own my new 135is DCT and have yet to take it to the track. I have two things going for me that I hope will let me get past the track with no issues even at 9/10s driving. First is that while my car has had the suspension tweaked the engine is stock. Second the car is a 135is which has a secondary radiator and larger fan. As the DCT has an exchanger with the radiator I'm hopeful that will give me a little more buffer than most others have.

No, never tried adding a cooler. Sold it and back to a manual car instead. E9X M3 with DCT and OEM cooler fair much better. |

Been to a dozen or so track days with my 135is and DCT combination. No limp mode and the DCT has been awesome. I'd take the DCT any day over the manual at the track. On the street though I miss the manual.
