Warranty extended to Turbos or Wastegates?

Has BMW extended the warranty to 8 years on both Turbos in the N54 engines or they just extended them to the wastegates? Any OP has the BMW bulletin on the subject please? Thanks.

It seems the turbos are covered under the standard powertrain warranty.

Yes they are under the normal BMW warranty of 4 years and/or 40K miles. But what I meant is if BMW extended the warranties of the Turbos per se like they did on the wastegates?

Dac, just spoke to my SA and what he told me is that it is correct, the warranty is extended to the wastegates only,BUT he said a wastegate only cannot be changed, that the part number in BMWs bulletin to be changed it includes both Turbos. Is that asseveration correct? What I understood is that the Turbos and the wastegates are the same part number.

For now... I have seen in the past where BMW expands the parts numbers in some cases and contracts them in others to maxmize profits and/or reduce inventory handling.

Yes, that is correct. In order to replace the WG's you have to replace the entire turbocharger since the WG's are integrated into the turbos.

I think this is BMW legal-ese... since they will not replace a turbo for say a leaking or worn shaft/turbine(after the power train warranty is up). But they will replace them for a rattling loose WG's.
