Getting ARC-8's
Hey guys. I am getting ARC-8's. I want to run tires as wide as possible. According to the guys answering emails at Apex, with my M3 control arms and alignment pin pulled I should be able to run 245's up front. I'm very happy with that answer.
However, I am still very much interested in running 275's in the rear. The specifications on the Apex website claim you can run 275's. This guy seems to have done it with no issues. So did this guy. However, the guys answering email at Apex recommended still going with 265's in the rear. What would you guys do? |

1. Are you having trouble getting power down in the rear currently
2. Do you want to set-up the car so you get more understeer?

I have no traction before third gear. I have JB4, 15ohm, Meth, Catless, DCI. I plan on upgrading the clutch and putting an intercooler in and finishing off the exhaust after this. I am currently running the stock runflats though, and they are currently bald. I don't want understeer but I honestly almost never push it through corners. I'm more of a stoplight warrior. I do plan on attending some BMW SCCA events this summer, though.

I run 245/275 PSS's it's snug but fits fine...if you were lowered I would recommend rolling your rear fenders if running close to stock camber out back
It's a good setup

In the rear, 275/35 series tires work, but be aware they're taller and may rub on your fender liner (no big deal) if you've dropped your suspension. 285/30 series tires fit in the rear and I've run them the last year with no major issue. For both, it is a very aggressive fitment and you need to make sure your alignments are on to eliminate rubbing. I've had far more problems in the front of the car after fitting the m3 control arms. Note that the 245's are very aggressive and you will probably need to be using camber plates and be max negative to avoid rubbing. |
