The stiffest non-RFT

I'm looking to change my rims and put new tires on I was thinking Bridgestone RE-11 tire I want a real stiff tire to help keep the sporty feeling of the stock M sport suspension and tight turn in

On OEM suspension set up, NO tire out there will give you the same sharp turn-in as the RFTs provided.

However your best bet hands down is the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

I just hear the car feels so sloppy with non RFT on turn in, if I did coilovers/springs dampers will this help to minimize the change in turn in

Easy fix mate, upper and lower M3 front control arms as well as front sway bar and M3 rear subframe bushings , transformed the car

Doesnt feel sloppy on turn ins at autox and track days and midnight canyon time attacks to me.

When shopping for tires... get a tire that has an XL rated sidewall. When I bought my PS3's there were two versions.... I ordered the ones with the stiffer sidewalls that are XL rated to carry more weight. I think this helps. Still... the "turn in" response will be slightly less sharp with regular tires vs runflats. Basically I am talking about when you more the steering wheel an half of an inch... with runflats the car changes direction NOW! With regular tires, it feels less sharp/direct. BUT... that is the only downfall of installing regular tires. In every other way... regular tires just feel so much better in ride and grip. Your suspension will hop around less and the tires will feel like rubber tires and not like they are made from concrete bricks.

Based on reviews, RE-11, Dunlop Z2 or Yoko AD08. I have AD08s for track and Michelin PSS for street. I think PSS feels grippier at street temperature, but not as firm.

^^ This is what you need to get good steering response. Especially the front control arms. It does two things, 1) Adds some negative camber, 2) Firmer bushings on the front control arms add tactile feel to the steering (The way it should be on a BMW). For these two reasons the M3 arms totally transform the handling of the car. Firmer shocks and front sway bar are also a good idea - So do that at the same time.

Thanks for clarifying John, the only issue I have noticed after doing this is ....I CAN't drive a car with electric steering...it feels dead....has anyone else noticed this??....lol

Interesting point. Although I have never seen an E82 coupe 135i with electric power steering. I thought its only the E82 125i and F20 M135 that have electric steering (Not the way it should be on a BMW). Maybe the European market gets different specs.

lol, my friend i was simply commenting on how amazing our cars feel after the front and rear M3 bits, then whenever i have a rental car or anything with electric steering I hate it IE most new cars lol

Turn-in cant be blamed all on the tires.

Camber and toe are your important factors. Pull camber out and make toe = 0 and you'll be able to touch the steering wheel and see the car dart
