I just drove a bone stock 2011 evo gsr today and let me tell you that it felt much faster than my 135i. This is partly due to the AWD but man do those EVOs just love to go...

I have FBO 135i and I destroy a stage 3 Evo X. The Evo is fast till around 100mph. After that they run out of air/fuel up top.

I think it has more to do with the torque delivery. The N55 is just smooth power while the Evo has that turbo pull like what you would feel in an N54. My buddy's Mazdaspeed 3 feels much faster than mine even though head to head the 135 beats it pretty handily.

That is correct. I've driven and raced all those cars and the turbo lag makes the speed and evo feel much faster, even though the 135i puts a couple cars on them both.

I was watching "who am i" with jackie chan the other day and they drove around in a mitsu evo iv. I fell in love with the car and was saddened that they didnt sell it here in america . But for some reason i started looking at other evos here and they are just growing on me. I would love to own one from fall to spring.
I think i will go for a test drive and see if the hype is true, i wont thrash on it but rather throw it in some corners.

I have both an Evo X and a 135i (N55), also had an N54 135i. Stock to stock I definitely feel the 135i dominating the straight line comparison, the Evo just doesn't have the top end to keep up. However, the AWD is phenomenal and should surely beat the 135i on a twisty track. But chances are anyone with these two cars will be modding them, and regardless of which one you have you will no doubt always have a smile on your face.
