I just called the 800 number to see if my car has left VPC yet. It said that my car is at the port awaitinga shipping vessel??

WTF??
I guess at this point, I might as well harass my dealer.
The wait is killing me knowing that my baby is within a 20 mi radius...

I called the BMW NA 800 number yesterday and got the same response. However, I just checked the Wallenius Line cargo tracking site "Track By Auto" page "Cargo Status History," and it indicated that my 325xi was "discharged" at New York, NY at 19:00 hours on 03/02/06. I'm guessing that our vehicles won't enter the status "At Preparation Center" until they're actually moved from the port's big car park into the Preparation Center facilities.

I get the same thing. Spoke to dealer yesterday. Its on a truck today, should be in Boston tomorrow. I think 1-800 is way behind right now..

I spoke to the dealer today. They said they should have it soon. I was hoping for a weekend delivery, but he said it wasn't likely...

I'm hoping to get mine at least by mon. I have the day off and it's mine and my GF's 4 or 5 month anniv. (i should prob find that out) It would be nice to go pick her up in the BMW as a little surprise

gdnyc, why is your car delayed until Monday? Josh49 was supposed to have his car delivered in Boston today, meaning he should be picking it up as early as tomorrow or Friday. You are closer (NYC) to the VPC (NJ) than Boston is.

I'm right in the middle of NY and Boston (I'm in CT) so I'm wondering where my delivery will fall...

I haven't gotten mine yet, and as of now its not even at the dealers. I have no clue whats taken so long. This blows!! Its supposed to be 60 tomorrow.

Yup. I have the same status. All around. I think they lost our cars. I just spoke with my dealer he says he has no clue whats going on either. He says the ports are running slow, everything is delayed. Even the x5's and stuff from South Carolina are crawling...

My dealer here in CT is expecting the car in tomorrow, Friday. But by the time they PDC it and install the alarm, we are looking at a delivery on Monday at the earliest.

So much for a nice weekend.

By the way, I am coming from a 2006 Audi A4 (that is currently the subject of a lemon law suit) so I believe the story about Audi Gremlins delaying our BMWs.

Latest Update on mine:

CA called this morning. Finally got out of the port, truck left NY 6:18 this morning. Should arrive somewhere over the weekend. Paperwork usually follows the car by a day or two. Then PDI'd, stuff installed... looking at delivery late next week. So another week of waiting begins..

Hopefully end of next week:

My car arrived in Connecticut today. Paperwork to follow, and PDI and alarm install to be complete on Tuesday.

I'll be picking her up on Thursday...

When you guys mention "paperwork to follow", what do you mean? Is it the filing of the finance/lease/state registration paperwork?

No the actual papers for the car (showing ownership) follow the car by a day or two. They are not shipped with the car. If they were you could steal the car and papers you'd be all set. So they ship them separately. Its the same way a bank sends you the credit card and pin number separately, and they arrive on different days. That way if someone steals your mail one day they won't have both..

PS. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong..
