Ouch. I set off loads of cameras last year
But now that they track down UK drivers, i gotta be careful next week.

I know in Austria they have to flash you from in front IF you're not Austrian(lic plates). On most of the tunnels... they have cameras that will flash you from behind - but if you have plates from another country... They have to get you from the front... so they can identify WHO was driving. So I have heard. I also know that say in Italy... they have up to one year to send you the ticket! Recently I got "flashed" in France on the highway... I was doing the speed limit of 90 kph(posted) and I have no idea why I was flashed for at night. I guess I shall see (if and)when the ticket comes. Dackel

Stelvio pass, northern side, is there a speed camera?
The GF swears she saw a flash to the side of her....not from in front or behind, but to the side. I reckon more than likely, it would be for the car behind her? |

Well... you will know for sure in a year or so time! (because that's how long the Italians have to send the ticket!) lol The only Blitzer I know of is here... on the SP50 road just before you come into the village(near the only Esso station), then you make a right to go up Stelvio. To go to the Esso you would need to turn LEFT at that intersection. The Blitzer is on a long straight country road between some farm (corn?)fields. The Blitzer is on a big pole and you have to be blind not to see it! Then you come into the small village at the base of the Stelvio Pass - before turning right and heading up into Trafoi/Stelvio. Blitzer location... https://www.google.de/maps/place/SP5...0.569832?hl=en That said... the Italians don't have to blitz you from up front. They normally blitz you from behind or from the side. And it's a white flash not red like here in Germany. Btw... IF you are still in Stelvio... you should pay Francesca a visit at the Albergo Post - Posta Hotel in Trafoi. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Alb....5112445?hl=en Or at the top of Stelvio... stop at the Perego Hotel where her brother Victor runs the hotel up at the summit. They are both great people. Maybe you could ask them about the Blitzer if your still in the area. ? Perego Hotel https://www.google.de/maps/place/Hot....4525739?hl=en Dackel

I'm in Bolzano now!
That location has a roundabout near, there was no roundabout near us. I think she's safe.

Good. But I think they have up to one year to send you your ticket(s).
I'm still waiting on my ticket in France... we were all driving 90 kph on a French highway... two of us got Blitz'd out of the three cars. Wierd. Dackel

Yeah... me too... I am still in that waiting game. Next month will be one year for my Geneva Blitz. June for my French photo radar doing 90 kph in a 90 kph zone.
at 0:26 you can see that I got flashed doing the speed limit(120 kph) in Switzerland, just North of Geneva. Just lovely!! Update: I never got a ticket for this one going the speed limit in Swiss. Dackel PS... the hand written sign reads: FREE pictures, take one!!

Still all quiet. Nothing from Italy in July, nor France in Sept.

Achtung Polizei...
The Polizei have now gone to this blue and yellow paint(wrap) scheme in Bavaria and most other bundeslands in Germany...
and the good ol' e30...

The problem is where there is a Blitzer... the Polizei aren't too far away. Most of the time they are monitoring things in a van hidden behind some bushes. Sometimes they watch from 500m away... to see IF other drivers flash their headlights(its against German law to warn other drivers to a Blitzer!)...
But I did find some vandalized Blitzer photos for you!
