Weird locking problem - no hazard flash, but it's set to flash!

OK, first off, I have to say: I have read the manual, and I have the settings correct according to the settings display in the dashboard. I picked up my e90 tonight (woohoo!), it was built in early March 2006 (so it should have all the latest software updates).

That being said, has anyone had this problem happen to their e90?

I set BOTH the unlocking and locking actions to flash the hazard lights. (No audible alert option was available since I don't have the alarm.)

BUT -- the hazard lights only flash when UNLOCKING. Locking does NOT flash the hazards.

I've tried setting the lock and unlock settings to "OFF" then back to the lights icon, and it still is not flashing the lights for locking (but it is flashing for unlocking!)... is my programming messed up?!

Thanks for any advice/stories/etc.

I have found that on locking, the doors lock immediately, but the (single) locking flash is delayed by about a second and a half - so if you are expecting the flash to be contemporaneous with the locking, and you look away from the lights, you will miss it.

YES! e90Fleet, you are my hero... it's the open trunk that's causing this. DOH!

I'm just not used to the trunk NOT popping open when you open it via remote... I wish they would have a trunk open warning light or something, or else, spring load that sucker more so when it pops open, it POPS open.

THANKS!

Yeah, if you locked the car with the trunk open, then you close the trunk, it would flash to tell you that all doors are locked.

I'm just curious as to why the trunk does not fully pop open? The 5 series do this! Anyone know?

This was the same in my old e46. The current C class opens the boot right up, which is very nice and one of the first things I checked out when I first previewed the E90 in March 2005, was the boot opening in the hope that it would pop open fully. Alas not.

Oh well.
