Yes, 100%. Edit: doh! Yeah, the shock will need to be changed.

Yes it fits, but you need to change to an M3 rear shock. The lower mounting points for the shock are different.

The light sensor bracket doesn’t fit I think. I believe you need to make your own for the m3 rear lower camber arm.

I am having installed the BMW PS plus M3 front control arms. I am considering M3 RSFBs, but I already have the Whiteline inserts, so I'm not sure if it's worth the parts & labor to upgrade from inserts to full bushings, from a "what will I feel?" perspective.

In talking with the shop (Turner motorsports, a known BMW specialist), they are suggesting I consider the rear guide rods and upper link arms while I'm at it.

My car is my DD and only used for frequent daily spirited driving - I don't track it.

I'd be interested to hear opinions on both the RSFB (if I already have inserts, is it worth it - bear in mind that my inserts have close to 50k miles - don't know if they wear...) and rear rods and arms (are they going to be felt and or worthwhile on a non-track car?).

The rear guide rods and upper link arms - are a sound upgrade. It will give your rear axle the alignment it needs since its lowered and camber'd out.

As for the M3/1M RSB's.... I guess it depends on the cost. Personally I love mine and they are worth the hassle to install. I would also suggest new DOT stainless steel brake lines too - since you have to drop the rear axle to install the RSB's.

Wait - so if I order the entire ECS M3/1M rear upgrade kit, then when I choose my new struts or coilovers I need to order something different than a straight 135i fit?

Yes. The 1M rear shocks attach differently to the lower control arm than the 135i shocks.

When working on the car today, i noticed that one of the control arms (maybe lower ones) did not have BMW or Lemförder stamped on them...instead they had TRW.

I thought TRW also made the non M (or standard) arms like Lemförder, but as i checked the online catalogs they do not, maybe an early TWR non M version?

Next time i am under the car i will take a picture with the part number, i really do not think they are TRW/M style ones but the car was registered by BMW Munich AG for 2 years before it was sold.

TRW also makes parts for OEM (you knew that). Maybe there was shortage of Lemförder, and BMW switched to TRW for that one control arm...

TRW makes the calipers on my dad's GTI.

Has anyone measured the track increase from the M3 control arms? How much longer are they than stock?
It's easy to find info on the camber increase, but I can't find any info on the track increase...

Also wouldn't the ultimate setup for track driven cars be the Meyle HD tension arms, with the bushing replaced with a spherical bearing? Due to the HD having a larger stronger ball joint.

Since my original bushings are shot @ 162k miles I am looking to do this mod/upgrade. ECS-Tuning's site indicates that the M3/1M Front Control Arm Upgrade Kit does not fit my E82 '09 128i but Turner Motorsports' indicates that it does.
Are there any other vendors of the TRW M3 arms/wishbone to check with?
I might end up having to just replace the bushings as neither vendor will have the M upgrade in stock until November..

I'm certain they fit. You can usually find the arms pretty readily. Try FCP Euro. You sometimes can find them on Ebay or Amazon. Find the TRW number (it's JTCxxxx) and look around.

The 1M/M3 arms will fit, but they are slightly oversize compared the stock parts. Many people have them installed, so its definitely possible to persuade them to go into the stock 135i crossmember/front subframe. In my case I had a mechanic install them with all kinds of other suspension mods.

Missed this thread and posted this on a new thread a while back, so just FYI: That kit is currently NA from FCP Euro. They told me they were having concerns about quality and are working on finding a new supply (still TRW / OEM? ). No ETA, but in the meantime Turner still has it.

Turner has a kit with the upper arms from TRW and lower arms from Delphi and Precision Engineered Chassis for $272 (https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...m-upgrade-kit/). They claim all parts are manufactured in Germany, which doesn't jive with that I've read about Delphi and PEC.

Does anyone have any experience with any of this? The kit altogether, Delphi and PEC for suspension parts, ...

I’ve just bought Delphi m3 front lower control arms just because TRW arms are still on back order from what I presume is a change of manufacturing from Germany to Malaysia like the thrust arms did a few years ago. I haven’t installed them yet but the thing I noticed is that some of the seals are not all 100% seated correctly which has me weary but I’m not willing to pay for Genuine BMW and can’t really wait for TRW to come back in stock since I’m redoing my suspension for the season at the moment. So I’m taking the risk and will change them again in a few years with genuine or TRW.

For thrust arms, the geometry between non-m and m are the same, the difference being the fluid filled bushing vs solid rubber bushing on m3. I decided to go for non-m Lemforder arms (which are still made in Germany vs TRW Malaysia), and bought them with GAS monoball bearings pre-installed so they’re technically “better” than M3 spec.

Hope this helped your question somewhat even though I dont have actual driving experience with the parts yet.
