dont know where u get these numbers from...

maxima 98 & mustang??
dont know about u guys, it doesnt make sense at all...
im sure the mustangs here r more than u all say, we had a race between evo 7 & 2003 mustang, evo went fron in the beginning, but the mustang kicked it in 3rd gear...
im not a big fan of the GT, but this is the truth, these words about mustang is a slow car isnt right.
n yah the 96 can go 0-60 in 5.9 (saw it myself)

i would be extreamly happy if the stock 330 will overtake the stang, but 330 wasnt made 4 power, but the stang was...

did the stang use reverse gear in the race???
common guys have some sense here...

there was an old ( 4 yrs ago) story here of a maxima beating a mustang, everyone thought it was true in the biginning, but then after i started 2 get interested in cars, i knew it wasnt true..

my cuzn overtook a maxima with his old MK4 golf gti, i was with him, n the maxima was in the front, but he could overtake it from the right lane...

Ok, my first post......(I do love my new E90 though)

First. A 99-04 GT mustang 5 speed is capaple of a very high 13 second 1/4 to a low 14 with a capable driver. The guy in that video was not a capable driver. Period. The mustang should with equal drivers walk the 330i. He beat the driver. An auto 99-04 GT should be a drivers race against a 330i.

Second. Any manual Maxima from 96 on can beat a 96 GT. My last car, an 03 6 speed Max has been known to run low-mid 14's bone stock and the 96 GT couldn't get into the 14's at all stock. They were the slowest of all GT's I believe. Very few of them are still stock because of this. Automatic Maximas till 02(255hp) were all in the 15's and 16's. From 02 on they can hit upper 14's easily and some have done better so don't sleep on those.

I don't know too much about this America car Mustang. I do own a E90 330i and a Porsche 997S. Don't under estimate the BM. Even compare with the 997S. the BM corning in some way better than the Porsche. The pickup speed of the 997s of course faster but the braking distance and the corning of the BM is very good. If it is only straight. I don't know too much how good is the Mustang. if you need to do a lots of corning. ( Thats how we jude a car in HK not just straight.) The BM is not bad at all.

My friend has a E46 M3 and it can tailgate my porsche all the time during corning.

1996 GT with 215 HP does 0-60 in around 6.8 seconds. Back about 2 years go my friend pete had a 96 GT Manual before he traded on a mercedes, raced a few times against my friend mikes RSX Type S, and they were even almost every time. Which confirms the Mustangs times. on an 02 type S, 0-60 are around 6.6 and 6.7 from what I have seen.

Oh and I dont know who you are saying has an Auto 330. But I sure in hell dont drive an auto.

glad to know somebody is out there with me, the mustang might not be a v fast car, but since the concept is different, it will win against the 330i
i noticed that the stang start wasnt normal, there isnt any "jump" or even a slight wheel spin, like i c the mustang does in other races.

another thing, if anyone here is talking about a V6 stang, he should say so, cuz its a huge difference...

There was wheel spin on both our ends. the kid is a very good driver. You cant really judge much from the vid except that I pulled. the cars are close in HP but different in TQ, drive train loss in the 330i is 7% which is a confirmed number, compared to the mustangs 16.5% through its drivetrain with a 5 speed. BMW is underestimated slightly. I ran consistant 14.0 and 13.9 in my 330Ci with a 3.46 diff and intake. Stock numbers were 14.7, the fastest time ran in a non ZSP 330Ci coupe was 14.2. My modded mini was running consitantly in the 14.0 and 14.2 range depending on temp. I see myself running low 14's or even a 14.0 Next week at the track. The car seems faster than what BMW states, this is all due to alt. temp. conditions. driver. I beat him fair and square. I posted a vid, I get flamed. Its cool, i know what happen. Next time I will not share it with you guys. Thanks.

1) make sure you put in d/s mode. (do NOT ever manually shift in a drag race if you have step)
2) dsc/dtc off
2) A/C off
3) 1/8th tank of gas
4) power brake till apprx. 1500rpm
launch and let that sweet automatic shift. You should be fine.
keep us posted, make a video if you can. If it's the older GT it should be very close but i feel like the bmw transmission will easily outshift him.
If its one of the newer model GT's....ehhh
good luck

it's it's the newer GTs, it's a big bye-bye 325, and possibly the 330 as well.

All I ever owned before my 325 was mustangs. Having said that I was always currious on how my car would fair against one.

On the way home the other day I was behind a 99-04 GT and there was some traffic ahead of us. Once the traffice cleared ahead he punched it. I was in 3rd and took it to the redline and shifted to 4th. I stayed with him the whole time. He could not pull away from me. We kept at it till a little over 100 then I let off for my upcoming turn.

I think I would have been killed if we started from a stop and the guy could drive.
