China Discovers World's Largest Oil Deposit Mar.02 - 2024 A crucial discovery for China, aiming to reduce its energy dependence, has come to light with the Chinese oil company China National Offshore Oil Corporation, better known as CNOOC, reportedly uncovering the world's largest oil deposit in the Bohai Sea. This is reported by Naftemporiki. The Bozhong 26-6 oil field, discovered in 2022, has now confirmed record levels of hydrocarbon reserves following a series of drilling operations, potentially exceeding 1.3 billion barrels (over 200 million cubic meters). The gigantic deposit was found in metamorphic rocks in the Bohai Sea, a small inland sea located at the northern tip of the East China Sea and northwest of the Yellow Sea, on the northeastern coast of China. https://www.dagens.com/news/china-di...st-oil-deposit What caught my eye was 2.5 Petroleum Occurrence Petroleum reservoirs are normally found in sedimentary rocks. Rarely, petroleum is found in fractured igneous or metamorphic rocks. Igneous and metamorphic rocks originate in high pressure and temperature conditions that do not favor the formation of petroleum reservoirs. https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics...leum-reservoir |

Tesla: It's Okay to Double-Park At Supercharger Stalls In A Non-Tesla However, there's something funky going on that we've known about since Tesla started installing its Magic Dock connectors: its Supercharger cables are just too short. Now, non-Tesla vehicles might have to double-park charging stalls, and Tesla's app seems just fine with that. That's now a problem for non-Tesla owners. For example, Ford's F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E have the charger inlet positioned near the front wheel of the driver's door. The Supercharger cable is too short to reach the front of the vehicle when it's backed in, and when the car pulls in, the charge port is then located on the opposite side of the vehicle. This means that the only way for the vehicle to charge is to double-park and block another charging stall. https://insideevs.com/news/710789/te...harger-stalls/ Don't bogart that Charger |

Tesla Could Make $10 Billion On Charging Stations
March 1, 2024 Several car companies acknowledged that they could not create EV charging infrastructures. In a form of surrender, they agreed to use the one Tesla had built. Tesla will get a windfall of revenue because of these decisions. One expert organization says the figure could be $10 billion a year. Tesla had a total revenue of about $25 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023 and warned its business would slow this year as EV adoption growth rates tail off. In the final quarter of 2023, Tesla had revenue of $25.2 billion and Adjusted EBITDA of $4 billion, a drop of 27% from the same quarter the year before. An additional $10 billion in revenue per year, most of which goes to the bottom line, would substantially change Telsa’s EPS figures. That is a big deal for a company with its shares down 18% this year. https://climatecrisis247.com/ev/tesl...ging-stations/ |

Tesla allegedly mishandled hazardous waste for years throughout the state of California according to a lawsuit filed by district attorneys in 25 counties there. While Tesla has a mission to “accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy,” it has been repeatedly called out for lax environmental practices. Elon Musk’s automaker is listed 89th among the Toxic 100 air polluters as ranked by the Political Economy Research Institute, based on the most recent available data. |

Fire fighters responded 8 times summer of 2023 to fight EV battery fires at Detroit GM assembly plant. City and fire department demand better separation of batteries to stop large fires.
In other news, the Federal government insists EV's are perfectly fine to park in your garage with no safety concerns. |

But we must believe the sky is falling and that EVs will burn everything down. This is similar but a flip side to the Green left that says the world is ending. It’s just mindless outrage porn for the uneducated. |

Toyota would rather buy credits than waste money on EV's.

The fire number has been debunked. When you correct for age, use and hobbies, the numbers are parity. The big difference is the catastrophic nature of EV fires compared to ICE fires. ICE cars also don't generate fuel vapor bomb clouds that fill a garage before detonation.

I love the sky is falling fuel vapor bomb clouds. This ranks right up there with the Nazi Zyklon B guy. You are welcome to post data showing fire parity. I have no problem correcting my views over facts. All of the reports I see show ICE as significantly more likely to catch fire. https://www.autoweek.com/news/a44938...cle-car-fires/ https://www.driving.co.uk/car-clinic...d-diesel-cars/ |

To be fair - there were fires at factories, which is concerning. That and the fact that EVs batteries do let off a LOT of nasty vapors when burned. It’s not one or the other - it’s true, and it’s a problem. Do ice cars have issues, sure but this is about EVs.
