Autoweek reports that the 1 Series convertible will debut at the NAIAS.

So, Los Angeles debuts the Coupe and Detroit will debut the Convertible.

Of course it would make more sense to introduce the convertible in So Cal than in Detroit in January, but BMW had to save something for Detroit.
