Consensus on Logic7? - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

I don't mean to bring up an old & overly debated topic. But what is the general consensus on what system the Premium Hi-Fi is?

I keep reading that some dealers tell their customers it IS Logic7, but others (including my SA) say it is NOT Logic7. Does the 128i have Logic7 also? There seems to be split opinion on this & mismatched info. It'd be great to see a conclusion on this & kill the dinosaur.

the canadian brochure says it's logic 7, but it also says 13 speakers

(so in my mind it IS logic 7 and nothing else matters anymore)

It's Logic 7 but without the front center speaker. Center channel is via DSP from what I've read.

My e90 had Logic 7 and did not have a front center speaker...

My non iDrive Logic7 system in the 135i has functions that the standard audio system does not have, like two spacial soundfields, plus a graphic equalizer.

Well thats the proof. COOL. I intended to get the premium hi-fi anyways. I MUST have the best audio in whatever car I purchase.

Same here. I figure the hi-fi option would be a decent compromise between custom and standard.

Edit: forgot to mention, I think the premium for hi-fi is worth it not for the Logic 7 but for the upgraded speakers and power. I mean, c'mon how many of us will want a "surround mode"? A true multi-channel system would have been preferable. I have to reserve judgment though until I get to hear the difference Logic 7 makes.

This has been answered some many times it is crazy.

Larryn and I both have a 135i with the Premium Stereo option.

Larryn - Non iDrive - He has logic7
Chrisk - iDrive - He has logic 7

The Premium Stereo option is Logic 7 (on iDrive cars, it says it on the screen)

I listened to both and the Premium was better sounding to my unsophisticated ears.
