Sorry to ask this guys, but has it been confirmed that the LCT has gone up or is it still just talk? Haven't had time to look at the budget to check.

It's proposed. The budget still has to be passed by Parliament before it becomes law. The Libs are now posturing about blocking some of the more controversial increases, but that may cause problems (blocking of supply and then a possible double disolution, IIRC) so who knows.

That's my take on the situation, anyway. Could be wrong, if so:

Thanks Simon. Just read that 1 July was the date that they want to bring it in, which means that I'll be safe as I will have my car before that.

Yes, for the ones that have deliver before that date, will be fine, another solution is just go to the dealer and pay the full amount, which will make sense if you are having delivery on july or august, else your delaer will be having your money for too long or you'll be paying the bank interest on a car you still do not own.
