The Neova's are a very wide tire. The Nitto NT555's are even wider. They have these gigantic balloning sidewalls.

Lots of good info here. Thanks Larry!

I want to thank Larry for this thread to give me the confidence to go for a square setup using 255s on all 4 corners. We just races using 255/40x17 NT01s on 17x8.5 et38 BBS CHs on all 4 corners. The car is pretty low, so we had to roll the fenders, but once we did that, no problem

That is great news, Scott! Would you describe the fender job as a mild roll, major roll, or major roll plus "pull"? Did it cause the plastic bumper edges to not "blend" with the fender line?

I would call ours an aggresive fender roll job, but it doesn't look bad. For the race car, we are intentionally trying to push the envelope for how wide we can make the front and rear track on the car and still have a square setup. And R-comp 255s will probably be a little wider than street 255s. And we've got our car pretty dang low.

Oh, and I keep forgetting to mention that we were able to get about -2 deg. of camber on all four corners as well - very important.

But for street guys, 245s on et40 or et44 wheels should be no problem, especially if they don't lower as much as we did.

Bumping this up from the dead. Don't know if larryn is really around much anymore, but worth asking: How was your wheel/tire-to-strut clearance on the 17x9 effective offset +38 w/ the 255's? Running 17x8.5+40 w/ 255/40R17, but all of the new batch 255's run so wide that I really need a 9"+ wide wheel to make use of them.
