And furthermore, on a BMW forum!
No wonder they are getting the thumbs down.

But seriously, the IS350 still looks like any other Japanese car out there, ESPECIALLY from the side profile. There is no heritage in the design elements like the 3 series.

It may go faster in a straight line than the 330i or G35, but it is heavier by 100-200 lbs, which would hinder it in the curves.

Put it this way: if someone can afford the 330i, they won't "settle" for the IS350. Well, unless they love to drag from stoplight to stoplight.

Where do you fanboys come from? Wherever it is, do they program you to just spout off marketing taglines in the midst of discussions or do you train yourself to do that?

Play nice, Zen, play nice

Seriously, regarding the Lexus, I've always had a hard time with the fact that if I buy a Lexus, and spend this rediculous amount of money on it, there's a Toyota somewhere that shares the same platform for 20k less. Yak!

hmm....looks kind of like a mix between an Acura and a Mazda. Don't know about the exterior, but the interior is pretty nice.

I initially like the look of IS350 but got bored in no time at all. E90, however, keeps on growing on me. BMWs age like a bottle of good wine but some cars just don't age at all but rotten.

Gotta love marketing photos. No way the front end will be that low when you finally see it at the dealership or it'd scrape on every driveway. Raising the front end will make it look even more camryish from the side.

If the logo was removed from the grill of the IS350, would you be able to correctly identify the name of this car ? I very much doubt that most people would recognize the identity of this vehicle. Herein lies one of its greatest weaknesses - the generic styling.
Couple this fact with what "Car and Driver" describes as "twitchy steering inputs, overdamped suspension, muted steering rack that seems typically Lexus light and artificial and space (that)remains a shortcoming" and the slightly slower 0-60mph time for the 330i is insignificant. The 330i wins because of its superior handling, styling and fun to drive quotient.
The new Lexus IS350 is yet another generic and boring Toyota design that will soon fade into oblivion.

to me, it looks femine on the front.

and very generic. Like a damned Solara or camry, and you know that the motor is shared with a Avalon.

Just remember, when you want to Turbo it, it'll be a torque-less wonder since the Dual VVT-i will have to be shut off, and boost the hell out of it to regain the power.

The Lexus 350 is a generic version of BMW design. Lexus equals boring. If you want the original and a better car get the BMW e90. If you want the knock-off get the Lexus.
