BMW Assist Subscription

How much is it to subscribe to the different features of BMW assist? They never listed it on their website.

It's around $240 a year after the 1st year. I don't think you can choose any options though. It's all or nothing...

not that i've heard. i've seen it broken down like that on the bmw website, but i think they're only talking about the features, not packages you can subscribe to.

Many of the "convenience" items (weather, traffic, etc) cost extra per use though. $5.95 I think.

Had you at any time by any chance looked at Volvos? I only ask because I had, and was looking at their Overseas delivery program, I think they have things broken out on their price list like "safety package" and "convenience package", maybe you're thinking of them? If not, then,.... never mind.

no. i stopped looking at volvos since i sold my 02 s60t5....had enough of their brilliant service departments and superb quality (sarcastic)...the things you see are good looking and good quality but once u get to parts you don't see like under your seats, u'll know what i mean.

and refer to your question...no..just go to bmwusa.com/bmwassist and you'll know why i called it convenience package and safety package.

thanks....wow...that's expensive...i'd rather spend the $ elsewhere...i don't need a call to have someone to remind me of service, and yet, I don't need directions/weather/etc....perhaps reservations but that's really not necessary...haha....I wonder what's the percentage of people that will continue to subscribe after the free year.

BTW, I heard that when you do ED, they activate the BMW assist...meaning that the time from you drop off the car to redelivery are lost/wasted. Is there anyway to not activate it until redelivery?

i was a little vague regarding the $4.95 price. this is only charged when you ask for traffic updates, weather and directions. the first call is free, but after that the $4.95 is charged to your card. other convenience stuff such as reservations are free.

I declined this nonsense right from the door. I don't want 1 year sub free because if in fact I do get used to it or like it, I'd shoot myself if I even THOUGHT about shelling out $240 a year.

Therefore out of sight out of mind, NO BMW Assist for me!

Download the .pdf from the official BMW website for details:
http://www.bmwusa.com/bmwexperience/bmwassist/works.htm

The Safety Plan is $240 per year and the Convenience Plan is an additional $120/yr. Only Safety Plan members can subscribe to the Convenience Plan. The .pdf also details what kind of actions are available under each plan.

Only the Safety Plan is included in the free first year.

even though the first year of the safety plan is free, i think my sales guy told me that i'd get three free convenience calls. i've been reading some old threads, and if he's right, i'm gonna use those up for ordering pizzas and stuff. if they prove to be very helpful, i might use them for "help" when i drive to vegas this summer.

question is: are there 3 free convenience calls per year while subscribed to the safety plan?

There is brochure on the BMW assist safety and convenience services on the BMW site. I signed up for both. The pricing is not very clear but the contract from BMW outlines services very clearly.

I have enjoyed both services. While on a recent 500+ mile trip BMW assist informed me of a traffic accident and road construction on the interstate. The weather reports are very helpful for traveling and finding services in strange cities is a help. You do not pay per call for traffic/weather if you subscribe to the convenience service. The BMW concierge serrvice is comparable to other like services offered by many companies.

Of course, BMW would like you to sign up for multiple years but I am taking it one year at a time.

So your upside down at the bottom of a ravine. You do not have BMW assist. You push the button and a voice comes on the line and says, “Bet you wish you paid the $240 now don’t you, ya cheap fuck. See you in hell.” Click.

I for one will probably pay the money.
