Does your ipod cable...

Screw up the sound with a slight movement? I literally CANNOT move the thing at all while it's playing or else the sound cuts in and out. I have a feeling its on the car connector not on the iphone connector bit.

yeah, i had the same problem

does the cable look like it is all twisted?

it is supposed to not have those twists in it, it is supposed to be shiny and straight

i went to the dealer, my SA offered to order one, but the manager of the dealership who is also my CA actually opened up a new m5, went into the glovebox and tossed me the cable

i dont have the problem any more

not to high jack this thread, my car came with the "Y" cable is that for the ipod or

.............if not, whats the Y cable for? TIA

Yep it is all twisted! Grrr, im having carbon mirrors done this week so I will show the dealer. I also have to show him a problem with my drivers side mirror screeching when you fold them up.

Cuz, Y Cable is good for any apple device sans shuffle. Nano perhaps too

its your cable, just have them change it out.

i found that the one that the factory supplied was twisted to begin with, they arent supposed to be

yep I'm on my second cable, had the car for 2 months now. Just had it replaced and still have the same problem, no kinks or twists in it though. Too much snow to drive the 1 now anyway though, I'm enjoying the audi AMI again though.

Just had a closer inspection. No real kinks or twists mate. But the problem is definately at the Y-Pipe end. The USB connection must be the culprit.

just get a new cable, the difference is night and day

especially if you have been noticing the garbling on movement, the sound quality is less than it should be all around

Mine cuts out sometimes as well. I'll have to check to see if the cables are twisted. The couple times it's cut out I just removed and then re-attached the cable and it was better.

My ipod connection quit completely on my one.
It wasn't the cable, I got a new MULF.

Mine cuts off sometime, so I bet that you have nailed the issue. I am going to get a new cable this week.

just got my second cable. I'm not going to put the ipod touch in the holder anymore. Looks like a bad design the stressing the cable (as heavy duty as it looks) too much

Hey i'm running into a similar issue, except that my ipod mini refuses to connect while my newer ipod touch works fine. i'm only using the apple stock USB cable on my 2011 128i, perhaps a Y cable may fix this problem
