1M exhaust tips diameter?
Hi all -- Does anyone know the diameter of the exhaust tips on the 1M. Just my opinion, but I think they look a little bit small.

I don't care about the size, the size itself is fine. What I don't like is the cheap finish of the exhaust overall. Hopefully it'll look better in the final version.

I dont know that its the finish or the size, but something about them does seem cheap or plain. Maybe its that they just look like little pipes barely sticking on the end of the diffuser. Not sure.

I just don't like what is under the car - all those rusting exhaust pipes.
I think the four polished tips look fine in person. And the charcoal (bumper) accents look darn good too! |

Funny (or not so funny) thing: In Geneva I saw some cars on a auto lift and one of them was an Audi S-somehow. Underneath I saw the same ugly muffler like on the 1M. Only difference was, that the muffler in the Audi was more hidden away and you couldn't see it from behind. So that scared me a little. Looks like this rusty muffler peace could do it into production?? Hopefully not!! |

Looking at the photographs posted on this thread http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=496787 which are about the best I've seen the exhaust pipes look fine for a factory standard bit of kit; not too big, not too small and not too long!

Yes. Not certain what it is either. Maybe its a lack of aggression or proportion compared to the rest of the car. I'm not saying they actually look bad though.

My gripes to revolve around quality, not necessarily size of quads. Still hoping what we have seen is simply prototypes. Otherwise, either seek an aftermarket solution (once something gets released), or at a minimum respray the end resonator and tips in black/titanium (heat resistant paint). Would hide all these welds/rust spots.

Having looked at the undershot photographs I hope you are right. I once had a Honda Civic (1990 Model) and this looks rather reminiscent of what was fitted as standard to what is now a 21year old car. I dont like Halfords style tail pipe covers either and this looks dangerously like those from the underneath shots. I would expect on a Turbo car stainless steel pipes all the way!

Glad to hear Akra is conformed. In titanium please, and under $2K USD LOL These guys build great products, but as customary, pretty pricey
