So you clear it and go in.. I have emissions here in Ohio as well and I'm pretty positive I won't pass.. but that's why I'm trading in my car before I have to deal with that haha.

I just installed my AP into a 08 135i AT, but now cruise control does not work. Did I do something wrong? Did I miss something here?

Looking for input from those who have previously had the JB3/JB4 tunes installed ... What was the reason you switched to COBB?
Do you feel a difference in the car with COBB vs JB?

I had JB3. Power is very smooth with cobb, and better on top end of rpm range, though midrange definitely felt better with the jb3. Running my car side by side with my brother, map3 is on par with the cobb ap, map 5 is quicker. I expect great support from cobb, with upgraded tunes and additional stages for full mods in the near future which should meet or exceed what the jb4/procede can do. To me, ease of use was the reason; smoothness is a bonus and a detraction at same time. The feel is not as in your face as the jb3 was. I mean, some times its nice to have the car have an attitude when you step on it, but it gets old after a while. I've heard the jb4 is much smoother like the cobb now is, but that wasn't my deciding factor. Pricing is a big difference though. I got intro pricing on cobb so saved a few bucks but 900 vs 500 isn't insignificant

After driving with the AP for a week to/from work, errands, etc, I still cannot wipe the smile off my face. You'll be hanging out in 5th and 6th gear alot because of the ridiculous increase in power. Don't forget to give us an update! (although I can't imagine you'll be disappointed )

I'm in my 4th week with the AP now, you made a good choice. I installed a JB4 in a friends 2007 335i and immediately was glad I don't have to do the install and uninstall of a piggyback.
6th gear is just plain awesome, i'll second that the cobb should come packaged with a radar detector though! got my first speeding ticket ever this week (i'm 30 and can't believe it took this long)

FYI, Cobb had some website trouble recently. If you placed an order online you might want to give them a call to double check things went through. I ordered online Friday night in Taiwan, (which is Friday morning in TX), so that I wouldnt have to wait for it long once I returned to the states. It should have shown up yesterday, but that order got lost in cyber space somewhere. We straightened things out over the phone. Should be here friday.
If you placed an order online recently and you didnt get a confirmation email, an invoice, and shipping confirmation, I would give them a call. |

Question to COBB: Will they give me new software for the pump? and if they do, will i have to send you guys a new ROM again for configuring? |

The COBB AP is definitely a great product and I do also personally have it on my 08 BMW E92 335i. You should not have any problems reinstalling or re-flashing your car with the Stage 1 tune as I do believe all current software versions are supported. I am an authorized dealer for COBB Tuning as well so feel free to drop me a PM if you guys have any questions at all!

My AP just showed up [devise's plan to leave work early]
Does the AP have a feature similar to "boost by gear"? I would love to keep the power output close to stock in 1st gear. Even stock the 135 has traction issues in 1st gear on run flats. I doubt the electronic differential can keep up with the added power. If not, that is something I would love to see for stage 2. |
