TC Kline vs. Vorshlag - Camber Plates
Does anyone have any comparison between the TC Kline and Vorshalg Camber Plates? I want am getting camber plates as soon as I get back from Afghanistan. I still have the stock suspension plus an M3 front bar.

Both are made pretty bullet proof. I've used both. The 1er has the Vorschlag V2 version.. their latest. I have no personal experience with the TCK 1er camber plates, but have them on my other bimmer.
The Vorschlag plates on the 1er work well, but introduce noise, over time, and the stack is not quite tall enough, to the upper spring seat rubs on the back of the camber plate in travel. I've emailed pictures of this to Vorschlag last year. They still sell the same design. This would not be an issue if I were to run coilovers. I do not, and run Koni Yellows w/H&R springs. I would try the TCK ones, unless you are using coilovers, and then I wouldn't hesitate on the Vorschlag set. Both are easily adjustable and pretty bulletproof. |

Like Larry, I had the Vorshlag on my 1er and had the TCK on my EE36. The Vorshlag has not made any noise (so far). They are more painful to adjust than the TCK ones. The TC E36 camber plates only had 1.5* of adjustment but that was plenty. I ran -2* street and -3.5* as the autocross. If I had coilovers I would have bought the E8x TCK camber plates but I have stock springs/shocks and I am not aware TCK will work with them.

has anyone actually run the tck plates on their 1er?
I think I am going to do camber plates next instead of a rear sway and would love to know if there is the same noise issue on the TCK's as there is on the vorshlags

If you autox or track the camber plates are a much better mod than a rear sway. Whatever you spend on the camber plates you will make up in savings on tires.

So far I have experience with 2 camber plates:
- Dinan - Vorshlaq I used the Dinan for about 6 months and there were no issues. The camber just wasn't aggressive enough for autox (somewhere around 1.5 deg). Just installed the Vorshlaq camber plates this last weekend with the Dinan suspension (stock size springs, koni struts) and while the process is a pain to install them, it was pretty straight forward. So far I've had no noise from the plates, but I can see how some would. You need to re-use the stock rubber protector ring at the top of the springs, that way there's no metal on metal contact. If you leave out the rubber ring you'll have metal on metal rubbing and probably noise. So far, I would definitely recommend using the vorshlaq's. You can move the strut the full play within the upper strut mount, which gives you max negative camber without modifying the chassis. |

I'll be likely trying the GC hybrid plates. Looks like a good compromise for the street.

I read in one of the forums that someone did have metal on metal with the vorshlaq's. They don't provide a new rubber gasket for the top of the spring, so I re-used mine from the stock setup. I don't expect significant wear as it's a stationary part, however, it will need to be replaced some time in the future.

TC Kline Camber plates will not work with stock suspension. They recommended the Vorshlag camber plates for that application.

Single row are race only. Double row is for street and are more robust for DD'ing.
You can't go wrong with either TC or Vorshlag (we sell both) but we opt for Vorshlag first. We have sold Vorshlag plates with countless suspension setups without complaints. You will get noise with TC as well. Both camber plate designs use spherical bearings which increases NVH over stock rubber but well it's worth it if you are looking to dial in some more camber or caster. -Tyler |

TCK can only be used on Koni based struts, nothing else, not even oem. Vorshlag on the other hand is modular and offer just about any strut type and shaft profile available today. It's naturally your choice between the two. Double for a street car. |
