suspension is set at about 50% stiffness in the front and its as hard as it will go in the rear. Tire pressure were probably 38 hot up front and i didnt really check the rears when they were hot but started at 38-40 cold... trying to make sure they didn't have too much grip only problem was that the tires delam a lot easier when the tire pressure is to0 high but thats a problem im going to have to deal with until i can get the rear end properly set up. Im learning so dont take what i say too seriously, but i do listen a lot and ask questions as much as i can and thats what i learned from the people there.

my alignement was not the best that weekend planned on getting the car aligned this week. dont know toe but the camber should have been around 2.3-2.5neg in the front and about 1.3-1.5 in the rear.static of course. the rear was lowered a tiny bit so there was probably some more camber. the car really liked to squat down when i got on the power so i think less camber would be ideal so i can make use of more of the tire. il post pics of the tires soon
Looks like a good setup. With a purpose built drift car how do they set them up usually? Lots of rear toe out for rotation with a LSD locked and altering the front suspension geometry for more aggressive steering angles? I would be curious to see how they do it in Formula D. You've got awesome control even in a car without an LSD. I can imagine you will hustle some guys in their Nissan's. Haha

Thats amazing!! Cant wait for you to go again so we can watch more

I am a complete noob when knowing about drifting, but do you set your car up any differently (apart from camber and the tyres as you previously mentioned) to make it easier to drift? In effect to unbalance the car more?

Good driving, flicking the weight of the car around with the steering and using the power to keep it going and make adjustments is what it looks like he's doing. The front sway bar also helps because the front end of the car will be more resistant and send some cornering energy to the rear increasing oversteer. This guy has good balance and feel for that car, for sure.

After watching the other version, you had it going just as well as the BMW factory driver I saw. Nice editing also!

one of the main things a lot of people dont think about that goes into a drift car would be a hydaulic handbrake. a big scandanavian flick isn't always the best way to initiate especially when you consider the high entry speeds at some tracks

Im trying to get it together so i can make it to the thunder drift rd 2 up at thunderhill at the end of this month. Hopefully will be able to get some more practice and maybe try a few new things. If I can get door bars in my car in time there will be some tandem too!
