Otter, it has been 2.9% since 6/1 for the 135i.

Absolutely loving it! After my 330ci without nav or bluetooth or anything, there's a LOT of technology to get used to. But I shut a lot of it off today and just drove. It's not going to be too hard at all to keep to the breakin recommendations -- the car has PLENTY of grunt and go under 45k. Smooth, quick responses, just feels sooooooo good to be back in a BMW. No complaints about the car at all. None.

My only issue is that the clearbra that got installed today made the driver's side mirror whistle at 35mph or higher. I've gotta have the install tech come out and look at it at some point. My CA offered to arrange everything and see what the deal is.

You're gonna love it, love it, love it.

So I'm trying to transfer the title of my old car and can't because a box on the goddam title sheet was checked incorrectly. I can't even cross it out and put N/A.
So now I can't sell my old car for another week or two while a new title comes. This is supposed to be an exciting day for me and I'm so f*cking pissed of it's unreal.

It's a PA title, I checked the 'odometer broken' box accidentally. Trying to see if they can get an affidavit or something to null it out.

In other news, just got offered the tire insurance from the dealer. You guys think its worth it? 800 bucks for like 5 years.

I never get extended warranties on anything. You are betting on things to break. Overall, in the grand scheme of things I have made out far more than if I bought every extended warranty I have been offered. I will say no to everything my dealership offers - just gimme my car.

I am also not getting the clear bra. For $1,000 I could re-paint my front end twice during the four year I will have the car, which I am obviously not going to do.

Radar Detectors

Anyone buying a new detector with their car? I have been on the fence about getting a V1. Thoughts?

I declined every warranty they offered at the time of signing. They really pushed the tire/wheel warranty at lot. I actually gave thought to the interior package they had since I ordered my car with Lemon leather...but in the end I took nothing and they were pretty pissed about it!

My appt is at 6 tonight, but I just stopped by the dealer and saw it in the delivery showroom. OMG. perfect. smells like... new car. I still can't believe this thing belongs to me. I'm afraid when I drive it tonight I'm going to be driving scared. Scared to scratch it, crash it, etc...

Anyone else get these feelings on their first drive?

Oh, and I didn't get any extra warranties.

If I was in the market for a radar detector, it would be the V1. That thing sounds far superior to any of detector out there.

It does cost a pretty penny though. I don't have one because I don't like wires and clutter in the car. I have seen DYI's on hardwiring them though...

When on highways I MUST set the cruise control because I will be doing 100mph without even knowing! So, I don't have to worry about highway speeding (except for those wonderful on-ramps!), and the back roads around here never have cops around

Don't be skeert. Just mash that pedal and let it throw you back in your seat!

Good luck with your delivery later and congrats!

EDIT: Make sure they fill those run flats with nitrogen!

First Impressions, coming from a 98 VW (with 96hp) for 9 years. Put 40 miles on my new 128i MT tonight.

Pros:
-Space Grey is nice. Wanted SGM, but nothing you can do. Space grey was just dark enough for me.
-The engine sounds awesome. I didn't use the radio that much because of it.
-Oh the power, and I got a 128i. Tough to keep it under 4500. The car is so smooth at high speeds, I am going to get a ticket for sure, cause you don't realize you're doing 80.
-Tight transmission, something I'll have to get used to. I stalled it at a red light, and I've been driving stick for 14 years.
-Stock rims and wheels look awesome. I was used to 15 inch wheels so these babys look huge to me ("thats what she said").

Petty Cons:
-Middle armrest is poorly designed for manual shifters, looks like it will be permanently up.
-Totally forgot about the lack of spare tire. Have to look into that.
-I'm 5'10 but like to sit close to the steering wheel, and that seat belt is a HUGE reach back.
-Speaking of the seat belt, the belt clip is too close to the parking brake.
-Reverse as opposed to first is not an easily identifiable shift. That will come with time.

Again, those were all petty. I'll have to adjust the radio sounds, stations, etc, tomorrow. Maybe take a pic or two as well. Too busy listening to the engine tonight.
For paying under 30k for a brand new BMW, I couldn't be happier. Looking forward to going to work tomorrow.

Jimmy all those cons you will get used to very quickly. Every new car requires *some* adjustments. As far as the spare goes, run out their tread and then get non-rf's with a spare in the trunk if you prefer, easy solution. Enjoy it!!!!

Glad to hear you're loving your new baby! I don't know how anyone could be unhappy in these cars. I've been blown away as to how much more fun this 1 is than my old 330ci.

I DID get the wheel/tire -- here in Michigan, it's a sure bet that I'll bend a rim at some point. I already bent 2 in one year on the 330 during the winter. At $500+ per rim and $250-350 per tire, having a warranty for 5 years @ $995 was a fair trade. They also pay for curb rash repair if that happens.

I'm not happy with the clearbra yet -- if they stop my driver side mirror from whistling, I'll be perfectly content with that. I'm wayyyyy to anal retentive to handle rock chips.

Hope you get some gorgeous weather to drive in this weekend! Stay away from the a** end of semis. Too many rocks thrown.
