I got a box today from HP Autowerks. HPA helped me early on in my build with M3 suspension parts and later inspired me to approach Stoptech and AST for sponsorships. HPA has done extensive work on e82s both with their N55 Project car and their current 1M. Harolds knowledge and experience with our platform is unmatched.

With the car back from body work, I will be moving into the next phase of the build, suspension. AST Sponsored me with some AST 4200 Double Adjustable coilovers, swift springs, and turner rear mounts. I purchased the Swift Thrust Sheets and Adjustable toe arms from HPA. I am extremely excited to get these parts on my car and in combination with the currently installed m3 control arms, sway bars and subframe bushings should really transform the car.
Ptech in Pleasanton will be doing all of my suspension and brake work. I will be installing the coilovers and other bits this weekend and be returning in a week or two to install my front and rear stoptechs and get a proper corner balance. |

Oh man this build just gets better and better. Can't wait to see this thing 100% done. Even though there's always something else to finish

I just picked this up from Fedex, a braille lightweight battery and HPA Bracket from HP Autowerks. I went with the 21lb battery, which saves around 30lbs and retains enough juice to still function as a daily driver and sit for 2-3 weeks if necessary. I will be hooking the car up to a trickle charger for anything longer. Just recently I had to fiddle with the battery cables in my car which serves as a reminder of just how huge and heavy the stock battery is. It is almost comical how small and light the braille battery is. I will be dropping it in and coding it with the suspension. |

Wait, so you did this conversion and you're going to buy an M4 next year? What are you going to do with the M135?

I went to Ptech today to get my suspension parts installed, but I brought the wrong rear upper shock mounts. They did adjust my suspension and we did a little shake down on the car. It was nice to give it a good inspection after all the rear end work. To my surprise, the shop that did my rear subframe bushing install (Not DTM) put my passenger side Rear Shock on upside down! WTF.
I ordered some powerflex rear upper shock mounts instead of re-using my OEMS and will be going back to Ptech in a few weeks and just getting the suspension overhaul done at the same time as the stoptechs. Venom and MGallop met up and we hung out and got lunch. Ptech has a very nice set up. Their staff are all very knowledgeable and nice. I was surprised how open they were to invite me into the garage while they worked on the car. Most shops are not like that. Im very impressed with them and they will be doing the rest of the work on my car. And one more pic of this 550i because it is too beautiful |
