Not specifically. I plan to just leave it unplugged. It's too much time and money to make it work. I am looking for a low mileage rack right now and will report back after the swap.

I'm wondering how this will work with the stability control system? I had my car in the shop recently and they reset the computer with the wheel turned and it killed the entire stability control system (car thought it was going at a different angle).
If it reads off the steering rack: perfect. If it reads off the steering column it may be a bit off when you change the speed. |

Steering rack is a direct bolt in. The MDM is a no go. According to my coding guy. The servotronic stuff can be wired to be on all the time, if you want it. Im still waiting to install mine since I had to move from Germany to the U.S. before I could get everything situated.

Do you know anything specific about the Servotronic retrofit? I saw a kit on RealOEM, but don't know anything about it - is that what you were talking about? Or you mean just wiring the Servotronic with an input for constant (non-variable) assist? Speaking of which, I thought our cars already had variable assist steering - isn't that same thing?

Ok so I have an update. The Steering rack fit 100%. Direct bolt on, all lines and fittings are the same.
My issue. The steering rack I have, leaks. Alot. It's not coming from the lines, or the fittings on the rack, but on both ends. It's enough I reinstalled the stock rack until I can source another one. The steering angle sensor didn't throw a code either. It wasn't installed very long since it leaked all of the power steering fluid out after a mile or so. There was a solid line down the street. Once I source another rack, I'll reinstall and post some pics. Sorry for the lack of updates on this, I actually forgot about this thread. Cheers.

I have the ///M control arms, and I used the Non M tie rods. They looked exactly the same, they are the same length, and I couldn't see a difference. My OE tie rods looked better.

Appreciate the time and effort you're putting into this Apex. I'm really curious to see the outcome here. Once the suspension is sorted I really think a faster rack and an lsd are the last pieces to make the car a true sports coupe.
I actually reached out to Turner here in MA today to get their opinion on the rack swap. The tech doesn't believe they have ever done the swap but they are researching for me now. |

My main concern is the fact the the M3 rack is Servotronic. Did you get any indication of how bad steering effort would be at low speeds, or do you think it would be too hard to say given the state of the rack you fitted? |

Thats what a few people have said so far that it is relatively okay to get used to.
