Here are some pics of the VO F20 from the IAA in Frankfurt. To my eyes this color looks different that the VO on the 1M. What do you guys think? I've seen VO 1M's many times indoors - but this F20 VO looked like a different color to me.

Spice Orange does not look like Valencia Orange. Its darker for sure.

Hi Guys,

I just got back from Leipzig touring the factory there again with Papethova. We had an awesome tour again! We saw two VO F20's in the paint shop area. They did look brighter to me than the F20 (above) at the IAA. But when we saw a handfull of VO 1M's along the plant... the 1M's VO looks much brighter to me. One VO 1M we saw was parked in the final assembly hall and next to some large windows - there the VO paint really sparkled(under direct sunlight). I have seen VO in various low light conditions before... all I can say is maybe these F20's are preproduction ones with slightly different paint. ??? VO looks much better on a 1M if you ask me.

You should have seen the look on our tour guide's face! (it was the same guy as last time!

He was nice about it though. He said I was his factory "tour guide" and he was the "vistor". lol

And... He said BMW Leipzig will be sending me an email soon with the answers to all our Q's - that I left for them two weeks ago!

VO is quite a 'complex' color and has so many different hues depending on the lighting. That being said, this F20 indeed looked different than the VO 1M I saw some time ago.

South - today in Leipzg there was a VO F20 in a dark corner of the final paint shop inspection area. It looked MUCH brighter than the above F20 car we saw at Frankfurt. I even asked our tour guide today about it. He did not know either.

I think maybe part of the reason is he said that most F20's so far have been built in Regensburg... while Liepzig has only built a handful of F20's to date. Even though we did see about six F20's today.

The VO on the 1M still looks different/brighter. We saw quite a few 1M's in VO today - but just two VO F20's.

So I went back to the IAA for another look at the show cars. I took some more pics of that VO F20, this time BMW had put some "Fahrschule" signs and mirrors on the VO F20. Fahrschule = Driver's Ed car.

BMW must have changed the lighting for the car - bc the color did seem to "pop" more to my eye. The first three fotos are from the press day last Tuesday, while the rest are from one week later - when the IAA was open to the public. The VO color does seem to have many facists to it. It really does change a lot. I think we can all gree it looks best under really hot lights or direct sunlight.
