Lovely indeed
Your car looks amazing! If you don't mind, can you share your wheel width and offset specs?

So some bits and pieces came in at the end of last month... and I finally got a chance to install them last week before a hillclimb event at Haunted Hills!

First off, a little something to rep the forums! (Thanks Stu)

By this time I stopped taking photos as I was feeling extremely angry... the reason? Some of you may have seen my thread calling out for help, but just to refresh... After I tested the LEDs, I forgot to turn the lights off and had my iPod playing through the speakers. For some reason the car didn't turn itself off as it usually does and the battery drained itself to the point where I couldn't use the remote to lock/unlock, open the boot, close my sunroof (which was tilted up... and it started to rain), or even get the car to crank. So after missing the VWGolf/1Addicts/EST dinner meet at Garage Cafe, Evans dropped by in the morning and revived my car just in time to get ready for the event.

So after Evans revived my car and I was driving around to get the battery charged again, I took the opportunity to have an impromptu photoshoot before meeting up with the rest of the guys...

Car felt awesome through the corners and the communication of the brakes and steering was awesome. Unfortunately the track was damp (and windy... very windy) so everyone's times weren't the best... I managed a 76.33 in the final run of the day. Now I know that the next major mods will be wider 18" wheels with fatter and grippier tyres, and hopefully an LSD too. It was so frustrating having to wait till I could actually put any power down without the tail getting loose... although that was fun too I guess haha.. The suspension actually fared quite well although I guess they weren't being pushed as hard as it would have been if the track was dry (same can be said for the brakes). In any case, coilovers and 135i brake upgrade have been pushed to the back of the to-do list.

Oh, and the intake surprised me with how much of a difference in sound it actually made even on the streets. Can't wait till I get back out on the track!

Very tight unit, the blackline lights work so well with your car.

Nice. I want to do the same taillight mod to my BSM 130i. You just confirmed my thoughts!

Is there any writeup on what needs to be done to get them hooked up?

By the way MrBlonde... I noticed "Get out of my dojang" is your user title... is that dojang as in 도장 by any chance? Haha

Yep I used this one from 1erforums. It's originally German but Google Translate does a decent job. There's also a discussion thread sorta thing you can take a look at to see what another member and I did... some process photos and annotated explanations too if you want to take a look.

If you've got more questions, ask away and I don't mind dropping by and helping you out when I'm back in Sydney during uni break if you need it!

Nice looking car.

Did the intake make any performance difference or is it just the sound that is better?
Also how much did the intake cost?

Nice work.

I want those tail lights myself but that looks like a lot of effort for installation.

I took mine to Philip Island last year and it was a lot of fun, except I have the 6AT which won't hold the gear I want through turns 2&3.

Its good to see you improving the car in every way possible, especially factory weak points. I see you have gone for more upmarket/genuine parts such as the BMWP intake and the L.E.D blackline taillights which I love. Are coilovers next?

Keep it up Patrick!
