What sense does a quad arrangement make with a turbocharged 6?
Go ahead & bite the bullet: Mount 6 little, individual pipes. If it's good enough for top fuel, it's good enough for you....

Hi I think the Quad exhaust setup looks great and I'm really keen to get it fitted when I get my 135i.
Only question is whether it will affect/void my warranty. Also anyone have any idea of how much it will cost to buy and install? I came across this as well: http://www.bmw-e88.com/product.php?id=236 |

Quad exhaust always looks nice, but it would seem a little like copying Mercedes and, now, Audi. And it's weird on a 6-cylinder car. (Those guys do it on V8 cars, I think.) Our cars have 2 downpipes, I like 'em with 2 exhaust pipes.

I honestly think quad is trying to make it look like somethign its not... I dont care for exhaust tone of stock (like it a bit throatier etc) but as far as tips/pipe configuration etc... I think single exhaust twin tip is the way to go.

Ok, and for those who dont think the 135 should keep its stock appearance... I got a few other options for you...
the exhaust spinner tip Some stacks Vette sts turbo exits Sorry to go off on a rant, I like custom, but I dont like custom to try and make things look like other things that they arent. Its not a m-car (unfortunately, and it probably should be) so no m badges for me.... its not a 335 or m3 so you wont catch me with quad exhausts etc... |

Hello, this is my first post, not an 135i owner yet, but soon to be, almost bought a Z4 M Coupe over the weekend but decided against it after seeing the performance figures of the 135i. 2 extra seats and $15k extra for modding
Well, after reading these post I can say one thing, dual exhaust, single, quad, etc, etc. This is what makes being a car fanatic so great, you can actually customize your car to your own personal taste. Weather for looks or for performance, it doesnt matter. I think it would really suck to show up at a get together and have everyone there with the same wheels, body kit, interior, exhaust, etc. how fun would that be? Anyway, I personally like the look of the quad set-up, left or right side exit to me just speaks economy car, leave that for the basic Toyota's and Honda's out there, not for a 300+HP twin turbo car. IMHO The majority of performance cars out there have a dual or quad style exhaust, and I think that stems back to the old hot rod days. The Subie STI 4cyl turbo has got quads, why not a 6cyl twin turbo Even if it didn't improve performance, it just looks balanced. Knowone here can say they've never done something for there car just for looks. Once again, it's all a matter of personal taste, its your car, do what you want and enjoy it. Braden |

Hmm..it's closer than I thought it'd be. Quad exhuasts look the business but the performance HAS to be the business to pull them off. Otherwise it's no different to a Honda with a drain pipe style exhaust - rice.

After seeing the quad on the M3 the wheels started turning...why did I jump on the Performance exhaust so quick? I really like the PE but if I could get this look I'd probably but posting the PE on the board for sell

Quads, I would definitely jump on a reasonably priced quad exhaust (none are very reasonable yet) with diffuser (I really dont want to cut up my stock diffuser) package deal. The quads or even dual exits make the rear end much more symmetrical and better looking IMO.
