A friend of mine owns a 1994 GMC Cheyenne with a 10inch lift and 45inch tires. Son of a bitch acts like he owns the road when he drives it. (It breaks down alot too hehe)

Yeah, I have a buddy that has a Dodge 2500 and he seriously does not look back or in his mirrors when he merges on the freeway. He does it on purpose too. I asked him about it and he says "I am sure that all those little cars will get out of my way pretty fast".

I asked him what if a big rig is coming and he said he will take his chances

So I got an update from the owner of the dealership yesterday. A part has been on backorder (been without my car 30 days now) and should be in next week. Once it gets here we are looking at 5-6 weeks. This is diff from the guy in the collision center who said it would be in today then 3-4 weeks from now.

Don't forget to fight the at-fault party's insurance company for "diminished value" compensation.

Obviously such an accident is going to show up on a carfax now, certainly lowering the resale value.

That is taking real long! Id be going crazy...... Hopfull itll be sooner then you expect that it comes in and gets fixed!

P.S. My injury settlement demand from my accident in May 28 for my Jetta getting totaled and all my injuries just went out to the other guys insurance... find out an approx. amt Im getting for my settlement Nov. 18 Im praying for at least 20k for me to keep!

If they have, hey, thats less miles and wear/tear you've put on your 1er...

x2 on asking for some extra $$ for the lost resale value...

New info on the car: the backordered part finally arrived. Now the guy at the body shop is telling me that to replace the structural part of the rear quarter they have to remove the roof and put a new one on because of where the pieces weld together. However, the insurance company wants them to just cut an 8" section out. Luckily the guys at Sun Motors are fighting for me and keeping me well informed about the situation. I should have some pictures soon and will post them when I can.

Yeah as of next friday I will have made two payments on it while it has just been sitting in the body shop.

Dang ..then get the carbon roof. I read somewhere the 1 roof is a separate structural piece.

if they remove the roof, you're gonna get a new windshield... they can probably save the backglass and quarters but i'd have to look at it to tell 100%...

keep in mind that now your car cannot be a "certified used car" because of this wreck... my moms Lexus rx330 was rear ended and all they did was replace the rear bumper... they took a $2100 hit on trade cause it wasn't a "certified used car"

i would contact your dealer to try to get some kind of numbers on what the trade in value of your car vs. a car thats "certified"... then contact the insurance..

Yeah I agree about it being totaled. I'm currently working with my father..cough lawyer ...cough ...cough to see where we can go from here.
