Doesn't this ASR shop normally race 10 second cars? Let me get this straight. It has a 12k turbo setup with custom intercooler, intake, and exhaust they hand built. They bolted on drag radials to take it to the track.
Then at the last moment they forgot to turn off DTC, forgot to put in some race gas, and somehow managed to break their methanol kit? Riiiggghhttt... When a supposedly 530 horsepower car goes 12.7 at the track it makes me wonder. |

It's gotta be faster than that. Bogging off the line isn't going to drop more than maybe 1-3mph. Hell that's barely 6 tenths faster than than my 335XI was bone stock- and I was prob 3800+lbs vs, what, maybe 3400 for a 135i?. I'm not hating on ASR at all, it's just gotta be faster than that. Waiting on them to jump in here...

Not only was it slow for upgraded turbos IMO, it appears that he red-lighted off the line (or am I looking at the tree wrong). Either way...crappy launch.

I just want to know what the setup was. meth? race gas? pump gas? DR's? Cocoa puffs? that run should not be counted as what an upgraded turbo 335 can do.... actually, with how evident it is that the driver mod was necessary...i'm surprised that car almost trapped 120mph

even if the car is runnin 11.9 its stillllll unimpressive seeing as how people with stock turbos and all supporting mods are hitting that and faster. 530 whp on a 1 series and drag radials should be creepin up close to 10s low 11s.

Let me put it to you this way, C6 Z06's are BARELY breaking into the 10's w 130mph trap speeds and 1.7 60 ft times. i'm not worried about the et anway....at all. I dont care if he runs a 15 second 1/4 mile if he traps 125mph. I want to know what setup we're watching and then see a better run...a clean run.

The 119 isn't BAD, but its not good either considering the upgraded turbos. |

e.t isnt so hot,but 119 isnt real bad guys..we need all the details..as everyone else has said..was this on pump, race fuel,or meth ? what kind of 60 fts were they seeing ? how was the track prepped ? what was the DA like ? one can easily say its a bad trap, bad e.t.,etc.but 12.76 with a 119 trap ? Not too shabby if you ask me..now,if its a best case scenario here, say with -1000 ft DA,race fuel or meth, and 1.7 60 ft then its probably not so hot.But then again this is florida, and if its recent,(being that it is summer)I strongly doubt the DA was anywhere under 800 ft.I wouldnt doubt if this thing can pull off 11s with traps a little over 125mph with all the right variables in place.

i've seen the car in person, it has plenty more potential, i think they're just trying to get all that power to the ground w/o breaking something. Seeing Abid drive that car I think he's running it on the more conservative side.

Geez, so much hate out there.
He got 119.38mph with a really bad launch, heavy rims, Florida heat, and maybe without race gas. Pretty damn good IMHO.

The rims, heat and w/out race gas does make this run more impressive than I initially thought though. |

The whole thing is just odd which is why I asked earlier what the story was behind the video; where it came from etc. The most surprising thing is that ASR hasn't responded yet (or at least someone from their group that was at the track with them). Anyone who's been to the track more than once knows what a 550CHP 3400lb car will do in the 1/4mi. And it's not 12s.
