Thanks. Yeah, I like the 313's more than I thought I would...they're growing on me.

Thanks,
I did too for a bit.. I just don't like that its held on by double side tape.. I was worried at high speed it would fly off and I have a subwoofer system that rattles the trunk area a lot. I took it off and didn't put anything back on. The trunk already swoops up some and I like it better.. The factory one was like a speed bump on the trunk... didn't like that either.. I went through this trial and error with my JCW mini.. It took 4 different wing options to find the right one.. lol The rear diffuser is AWESOME!!! Bolt on and very solid.. Thanks, yes I did lower it with Eibach Pro-Kit springs.. 1.2-1.5 drop.. It cost maybe 600.00 total installed. The ride is still nice and doesn't bounce around like my mini... You can dig in the corners a lot harder with BMWs already awesome suspension. I just wanted to close the tire/ fender gap and improve the handling.

Here are some with it on the car... I personally thought it made the back end look too tall. After lowering it and looking at it a few times, I saw there was a rake in the truck already which was enough or me. I wasn't happy with the 3m tape installation. I hear the bmw kit ruins the paint so I didn't want to explore that option either incase I changed my mind about having it on the car. Good luck with your choice.. If you do get it, make sure to hit the front and back with 3m tape. The back is not held on by pressure.

One lighter than the darkest in the rear and one lighter than the back in the front.. Its the hybrid film with heat reduction so you don't have to go too dark. It was about 400.00 but worth it.. I had some shitty tint installed on my mini in SF. When I went through tunnels the light would hit it in a certain way you could see how cheap the film was because of the clarity. It was cloudy and had patterns in it.
This film looks dark only certain angles .. Here is one in the parking garage from the front.. Last edited by Greg FEightytwo; 05-06-2013 at 08:40 AM.. Reason: Photos |

Yup, That is why it was removed as well.. If I ever did desire a bigger lip from a wing, I would just buy the trunk replacement in carbon but its not necessary in my opinion.. I prefer bolt on items over gluing anything to a car.. I looked at the icarbon front splitter and it too has double side tape with a few bolts.. Kerscher seems to bolt on which may be an option.. We'll see...

You are entitled to your opinion.. I personally don't like it.. Do you have one on your car? I think if you saw it in person, you'd feel differently about how cheap it looks.. Same as the factory one that looks like a speed bump...

Sweet MINI! I was a MINI-man once upon a time, but I could never get myself to accept the R56 as a viable car after falling in love with the R53. Yours looks nasty though.

Thanks man.. I hated mini before.. I drove an 8 lifted new denali with 35's and I just wanted to smash them all the time because they cut me off.. I sat in one for fuel economy since I was driving 40k miles a year and I was blown away.. It was a go cart and San Francisco was a perfect track. lol.. I put almost 18k into it to make it look that way.. Was a waste of time and money but I enjoyed building it.. I did all the install... Parts were at cost from my relationship with the dealer and the paint was free from my body shop.. I will say I got ripped of for the trade in... But the new car is worth it..

I'm guessing a convertible is the best way to hear that lovely exhaust even better, which seems to be everybody's favorite part of their IS. |
