I will see if i can find that pick of the M3, it looks competitive... like it belongs on a track. It might even be on a track in the pic...

Good luck with your decision man.:respekt:
I agree the M3 looks quite good in Alpine white, but it has the contrast of a carbon fiber roof panel! :headbang:

I'm sorry to say this but its as if all these AW owners are camera happy while the BSM/Jet Black owners are camera shy!!

I can actually say that i'm almost about to change my order today.

Don't change your order.

Black hides all the shut lines between the panels, and helps the diffuser at the back blend in with the rest of the car.

Despite what people say, I have no problem spotting swirl marks and scratches on a white car.

I drove a jet black 1994 318i for six years, and back then if you parked it next to a white 318i - the white looked awful - but then again the side mirrors, and door handles on the base model were always black no matter what the paint colour was - making them stand out on light coloured cars. I realise I'm going off on a slight tangent now. So I'll stop.

If you're going to change your order, change it to Jet Black and save on the cost of metallic paint.

The dealer by me has 1 Alpine M3 Coupe, 2 black M3 sedans, and 1 grey M3 sedan. I love the Alpine white Coupe, but the black M3 sedan looks awesome too. I want both.

White for a Coupe, Black for a Vert.

I saw a 135i JB vert today for the first time. It was...stunning. The white vert was meh.

Well now I'm really confused...

I saw a Jet Black 135i with limo tints and got disgusted by it. Then the very next day, saw a BSM/Coral Red 135i driving around and it was so clean and gleaming in the sunset...

I can already see myself regretting both color choices. I think I'll just do the original suggestion of a coin toss best 8 out of 10.

A brand new or later model white car can look great if it's kept up well. However in the LONG run like 10+ years, oxidation and discoloration is going to be noticable, and a white car can really start to look like hell as the years wear on...especially with neglect. Color and gloss retention should be less of an issue with modern high end automotive finishes I would think. White to me makes a car look fresh/stylish/athletic.

Black on the other hand makes no apologies and shows everything from day one, but tends to age much more gracefully, and usually cleans up well at the hands of a professional even after years of neglect. Black never goes out of style, and I've often wished I "had a black one" when remembering some of the more cherished used cars I've owned. Black makes a car look legit/bad ass/the real deal.

When my black car IS CLEAN I love it and think, "Should I get another" Then I come to my senses and go back to Alpine.

I agree. White is not the colour to get if you'll be keeping your car for 10 years or more. It will look good for a few years though.

This is something I hadn't considered. I intend to keep my car for 6+ years, planning on buying an extension to the warranty when the factory issue one is up. A white E30 M3 well kept still looks great after 20 years though so I'm not quite sure.

I love both colors...in the end I went with AW for my 128 and simply because white on a bmw looks a lot classier IMO and because I was impatient, wanted a 1 asap and AW was the only model they had coming...

Hind sight, I would have gotten white still though...for some reason, you can't see dirt as much

Find out if it has been repainted. Otherwise it probably wasn't outside much.

AW is a great colour when it is new. I saw a brand new 550i in AW and I couldn't stop staring at it. But my friend's 1996 318i in AW looked awful after a few years, while my Jet Black 318i didn't - and they were both parked outside a lot. AW starts to fade first, Jet black takes longer to deteriorate - everything else being equal.

I ordered BSM w/ coral red. This combo just looks absolutely mean! No offense to AW/CR...but I just want a mean a** car, and by chance it comes with a mean a** engine.

Here are some pics taken at night. Disregard the balloons, pics were taken that night after the bmw drive for a cure.

BSM with coral is one of the combos that BMW features at shows. It's classic, like a classic Vette. If I had it al to do over again, I'd probably get jet black.

Sure, you have to be careful washing it, but what's so bad about that? Just use the right products and techniques. White may be more forgiving, but nothing looks better freshly washed than a black car.

i got mine in BSM with black leatherette. i had the same dilemma as you, but after i saw it i knew black was the right choice. however, the terracotta leather looks awesome on this car, so i kinda wish i got that to mix it up. tough tough choice. i think the right setup is BSM, terracotta leather and 35% tint on the glass. my humble opinion.
