https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=S...via=4&t=m&z=10 And if you got a whole day and it ain't easy to quench your thirst for mountain driving, here are two longer trips:
(remark: given the overlap on the map of points (A)+(V), (B)+(U), (C)+(T) and (D)+(S), start looking for "V" (hotel = start and arrival) and subsequently U/T/S/E/F/G/H/I/J/K/L/M/N/O/P/Q/R/S/T/U/V.
Optional Sella Ronda lap (± 55 km - ± 01h20) for those who still want more at the end of the journey (Passo Gardena | Passo Sella | Passo Pordoi | Passo Campolongo)

Our new home... Hotel Kolfuschgerhof
Ok Guys, here is a little update. We are all set for the weekend of August 29th/30th/31st. I had to find a new hotel bc the Bella Vista was booked that weekend for a wedding. It was a little bit hard trying to find a hotel for 20+ ppl, but I found a GREAT hotel just up the street.
We will all meet at the Hotel Kolfuschgerhof(herein referred to as KFH) in Alta Badia on Friday afternoon, August 29th. We can have a nice relaxing dinner at the hotel and look forward to Saturday's awesome drive thru the Dolomites! Sella Rounda. Hotel Kolfuschgerhof(KFH) is a FOUR star hotel, and the owner Dagmar is really quite a car person! Last week they hosted the Lotus Club of Germany. We have reserved 15 single rooms and 5 double rooms. I need to know who needs what kind of room. The hotel rooms will be on a first come first served basis! I need to have everyone reconfirm that you WILL be coming! The price of the rooms will includes dinner and breakfast(you only pay for drinks/extra) and parking is free. They even have an underground garage if you'd like to use that option(n/c for us). The rooms are also the upgraded superior rooms, larger and more luxurious than the standard room. The price of a single room is € 130,00 per day/ person. The price of a double room will be of € 139,00 per day and per person, so two people in a double costs € 278 per day all inclusive. I know this is a little steep, but the hotels in this area were quite expensive and this really was the best deal I could find. PLUS this IS a FOUR STAR hotel!! Trust me we will really have a nice experience here at KFH. The price is for half board: it does not only include the room/breakfast/parking/WIFI/Spa, but it also INCLUDES dinner!!! And the owner is fluent in English. Very good customer feedback, take a look here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...lto_Adige.html (TripAdvisor) http://www.booking.com/hotel/it/kolf...ml#tab-reviews Here are some photos of the Hotel Kolfuschgerhof and the area. Double room here.
I told my buddy that I have to know ASAP 100% if he's going. Until I get the word I have to assume he isn't.

Double room - two nights (wife, daughter and myself) (Fri Aug 29 + Sat Aug 30).
Just to point out again to everyone: the price is for half board, thus it also includes dinner.

15 single and 5 double rooms = ± 25 persons.
As Dackel pointed out: first come, first served. Early confirmation = you have peace of mind that your room will be available. If more than 25 want to be part of this epic Sella 1.0 experience, we need to see whether the hotel can arrange for extra rooms (an uncertainty though). So those who want to be part, let us know ASAP!

--------------------------------------------------------------- Here's the provisional map and itinerary of the pre-run of the Sella Ronda trip scheduled for Friday August 29, 2014 (small group also doing a pre-run through the Black Forest and the Swiss Alps on August 27-28, 2014): https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=H...&via=4&t=m&z=9 It's a scenic, though challenging, 430 km trip with start at "Hotel Post" in Pfunds (Austria) and arrival at "Hotel Kolfuschgerhof" in Colfosco di Corvara (Italy) (08h33 - 428 km) covering 11 different mountain passes in South Tyrol / Dolomites: Hotel Post in Pfunds (departure) | Passo Rombo (Timmelsjoch) | Passo di Monte Giovo (Jaufenpass) | Passo delle Erbe (Würzjoch) (partially) | Passo Campolongo | Passo Pordoi (Pordoijoch) | Passo Sella (Sellajoch) | Passo Gardena (Grödnerjoch) | Passo Valparola | Passo Falzarego (partially) | Passo di Giau | Passo di Fedaia | Passo Sella (Sellajoch) (partially) | Passo Pordoi (Pordoijoch) | Passo Campolongo | Passo Gardena (Grödnerjoch) (partially) | Hotel Kolfuschgerhof (Colfosco di Corvara). Given the overlap of points on the map, the order is as follows: A/B/C/D/E/F/L/V[G]/U[H]/T[I]/J/W/V[K]/L/M/N/O/P/Q/R/S/T/U/V/W:
And here's the provisional map and itinerary of the Sella Ronda trip scheduled for Saturday August 30, 2014 (whole group - more stops for food and picture time): https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=H...ra=ls&t=m&z=11 It's an epic five and a half hour trip with start and arrival at "Hotel Kolfuschgerhof" in Corvara (05h39 - 244 km - manageable with one fuel tank) covering ten different mountain passes of the Sella Ronda area: start at Hotel Kolfuschgerhof (Corvara/Colfosco) | Passo Gardena (Grödnerjoch) | Passo Sella (Sellajoch) | Passo Pordoi (Pordoijoch) | Passo Campolongo | Passo Valparola | Passo Falzarego | Passo di Giau | Passo San Pellegrino | Passo di Fedaia | Passo Pordoi (Pordoijoch) again | Passo Sella (Sellajoch) again | Passo Gardena (Grödnerjoch) again | arrival at Hotel Kolfuschgerhof (Corvara/Colfosco). Optional: another ± 75 min full "Sella Ronda" evening trip (Passo Gardena | Passo Sella | Passo Pordoi | Passo Campolongo). Given the overlap of points on the map, the order is as follows: V[A]/U[B]/T[C]/S[D]/E/F/G/H/I/J/K/L/M/N/O/P/Q/R/S/T/U/V:
And here's also the provisional map and itinerary of the morning trip scheduled for Sunday August 31, 2014 (check-out of hotel - start of the return back home): https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=H...sz=16&t=m&z=12 The vast majority of the group will check out of "Hotel Kolfuschgerhof" on Sunday morning and head back home. Here's a two hour morning trip to graciously bid farewell to Sella Ronda this year and start the journey back home. It is with start and arrival at "Hotel Kolfuschgerhof" in Corvara (02h02 - 82 km) covering five different mountain passes of the Sella Ronda area: start at Hotel Kolfuschgerhof (Corvara/Colfosco) | Passo Gardena (Grödnerjoch) | Passo Sella (Sellajoch) | Passo Pordoi (Pordoijoch) | Passo Falzarego | Passo Valparola | Passo Gardena (Grödnerjoch) again | arrival at Hotel Kolfuschgerhof (Corvara/Colfosco). Quite likely the group might split up at La Villa (point "F" on the map): one part of the group will head North towards Brunico to get onto the A22 highway at the entrance/exit Bressanone/Brixen, the other part of the group will head West towards Wolkenstein to get onto the A22 highway at the entrance/exit Chiusa/Klausen. Given the overlap of points on the map, the order is as follows: G[A]/B/C/D/E/F/G[A]:
Note: if you want to see the maps in Classic Google Maps instead of New Google Maps: if the map is shown in New Google Maps format, click on the question mark icon at the bottom right and subsequently click on "Return to classic Google Maps" and at the following window also on "Return to classic Google Maps".

Saturday will be our main day of driving the Sella Pass(area). Sunday we will be doing some driving(two or three hours - in the Sella area), but probably only a few hours - since most guys will drive back home on Sunday. Myself and one or two other guys will stay at the hotel Sunday evening. Then we will all head our separate ways back home on Monday. Dack
