In the configuration shown, I'd have to strap the tires down...which would be a PITA. Stacking the tires virtually eliminates this, and I can look out my rearview mirror without seeing rubber |

LoLz on the tires in the back picture. In my vert, I had to put the roof down, load tires onto the backseats, and roof back up haha. As you probably know, the back seats in the verts do not go down.

Made some progress this weekend.
Today I got my brakes done with HP+ (Whoo tiny brakes!) Front bar installed: As well as I moved my studs from the Z4M to the 128, as well I flushed the whole system with ATE Blue Last edited by Kgolf31; 03-20-2014 at 01:14 PM.. |

Thanks, slowly but starting to finally see the end.
DAs are going in next week along with rear fender roll. First Event (Fun Event) is the 29th, then the following weekend is T&T and PE1 Sat/Sun on Wilmington Pad (where the Match Tour is being held). Then April 11-13th is the Match Tour at Wilmington Pad. Very fortunate to be local, get some valuable T&T time on a limited access pad with only 1 National Event held on it to date. Full blown autox season is 12 days away! Last edited by Kgolf31; 03-20-2014 at 06:29 PM.. |

Old news, but the Dunlop ZIIs are the tires I went with and mounted them on the APEX wheels.
Did a test fitment today. and looks like we will be fine. I just jacked the car up, mounted the wheel to see how it looks: Then lowered the car to see how clearance was going to be. Didn't move the car at all, so the suspension is still loaded (and you'll notice because of this...the wheel is almost at zero camber). This is okay, because I get to see how worst case fitment is: Up close: As you'll see...it is tight. Keep in mind this is also stock suspension. After roll, and camber though...no worries. We will be free and clear! |

Suspension time!
Up on jack stands next to a fellow STX competitor. And done! Ride Height is still off, and final adjustments are tomorrow. However the rear is just about where it needs to be set...need to adjust fronts to get the proper rake |

Good stuff! I can't wait to update my thread lol. All my parts are just stock piling up in the storage room!

Get going man! You're running out of time!
Buttoning up the interior. Cut slots into the trunk for access to the rebound, I'll take pictures of those later. Amazing how many wires and random crap BMW finds a way to hide. Height adjusted and now set. Ready for alignment tomorrow! First event Saturday! SO STOKED! |

Got the car aligned today, and threw on a wheel for rear fitment. As we all know, APEX 17x8.5 ET40 is a tight fit...as you will see, they do not lie. They fit, but I got some serious camber in the back with a roll. I got plenty of room though (I would guess a couple millimeters) |

Time to scrub in the ZIIs.
The rears rub a wee bit at full soft over harsh bumps. I clicked compression to 7 and didn't experience any rub...will have to see when I actually push the car and get the tires warm if I experience any rub. May have to roll a bit more Front strut clearance w/5mm spacer |

Yea, you might be able to get away with that. Keep in mine, I'm rolled a bit already...so with this offset you still may need to roll. Cannot rule that out. If you have any question regarding fitment feel free to shoot me a PM. I don't want to list my alignment specs. |

I'd love to be able to do the same wheels with 235s and some camber without rolling the fenders. My end goal is just a fun DD car that I'll autox with occasionally. Most of my extra time/money gets spent on the M3 and track entry fees so the 128 takes a back seat unfortunately. |

OP - Do you know what the alignment specs are now on there? I am especially curious of the rear camber/toe settings... thanks! I am running a 9" et45 rear, which puts me 1mm further out than your 8.5 et40.

So I had to buy magnetic material to mount some stickers for SCCA event. I bought enough to cover me so I figured I would use some existing vinyl stickers and use them as magnets instead of window.
I bought silver, but of course we know how silver is always different....which is the case here. What are your thoughts? |

How was the opener event with OVR? Was talking to a few different friends back home. The pictures looked like a monsoon!
