Why nothing on the 1M in this post?

Why is there nothing on the 1 Series M in this post?
Is there another post specifically like this for the 1M?

Great article, the most crucial things that was missed was the valve cover gasket (Normal for any bmw I6), the coils, and the LPFP. I've owned 4 n54s and have had all of what you mentioned as well as what I mentioned fail.

Great thread! Just wanted to mention that my 135i is tied for first in my list of cars I wish I could have kept forever. If you're in the market, I highly recommend grabbing a clean one!

Guys,

What about the warranty extensions on N54s:

Turbos: 8 years or 82K miles
HPFP: 10 years or 120K miles

BMW recall for the following:

Fuel Injectors
Battery cable/grounding strap

Please correct me if I am off

Great list. Note tough that spark plug replacement for N54 135i differs from others. It's every 45K miles.

Maintenance schedule is different and BMW has included a warning/reminder in the form of a sticker placed in the engine bay.
It was available in 2012 on a standard 135i for the outrageous price of over $2,000.00

But, for 3 months starting around January of that year they gave it away for half price Of interesting note the PPK2 lost a couple of horsepower going from the 2012 PPK2 option to the 2013 135is transformation.

That is very interesting indeed and the first time I've heard that. Dackelone or anybody else, do we know if there is evidence to support this, at least on paper?

First, I have not heard about that?

I do remember someone dynoing the PE exhaust on a 135i when the cars first came out(N54)... and the PE lost 5hp. Now, I don't think there is a soul around who can tell you they can feel a 5hp loss on a 300 or 400 hp engine!

I meant that the 2012 PPK2 package had like 3 more advertised hp than the 2013 135is. I'm sure the marketing department was just rounding the numbers.

BMW uses a mileage based maintenance schedule. The car tracks it and you can check what due next using the scroll toggle button on the turn signal stalk - w/ the car on but not moving press BC on turn signal stalk, CHECK shows up, use toggle to scroll through when services are next due. Also menu there for personal settings (locks, turn signal 3x, etc.)

Maintenance Schedule

Oil change: 5-6k mi.
Oil 0w-40 or 5w-40 (LL-01 BMW spec.)
Air filter: 2 yrs / 24k mi.
Brake fluid: 2 yrs / 24k mi.
Power steering fluid: 2-3 yrs / 30k mi
Coolant flush: 3 yrs / 36k mi.
Cabin air filter: 4 yrs / 45k mi.
Differential: 45-50k mi.
Trans. flush/fill: 50-60k mi.
Water pump, tstat, rad. cap: 5 yrs / 60k
Spark plugs:
** n55 @ 60k;

Fuel filter: 60k-80k (in fuel tank)
