update; Last saturday I had a second opinion by AdVevo, he heard noises alright, but it was less then I recalled when driving alone. We drove with 3 persons, so more load on the springs. Andre did check al springs, he did not see anything abnormal. But the sound is not gone, not less either in 8 days driving 750km in total On sunday/monday I drove the 1M alone...the sound just was worse, so checked it with JRZ. They do not understand, a little bit off sound is normal for this kind of suspension. The problem is that is not just a little bit, it is a hollow sound, made worse by streets with a lot of potholes, good highways no problem, high speed runs, no problem........but around town cruising is not the best idea .......the sound gives me the creeps JRZ is committed to solve the problem.....we will see..... Keep you all informed. |

For instance, is it a sharp knock under certain road conditions or more like the sound of fluid being rapidly squeezed through an orifice? Thanks. Neil |

There are 2 kind of sounds;
1 Driving very slowly, there is a soft squeezing sound, kind of rubbing sound, it `s more in a distance 2 Driving bad road conditions between 20-60 km/h there is a harsh, hollow, knocking sound, some times, depending the road, it`s like firing a Gattling gun, mainly front axle. I do understand from Andre and JRZ that some sounds are normal for "sport suspension", but this is more than normal IMHO, I don`t like it at all. Hope this a good explanation.. |

Thanks for checking. I got 21 last night, LOL.
But I do believe its actually 22, I will try to find the literature I found explaining the RS1 in detail.

I did have contact with Erik Ras from JRZ, told them about the sounds and my complaints about that.
Reply; they can`t explain the sounds, but they are really committed the solve the problem, so a complete new RS1 set will be produced. Mr Ras also said that at as we speak there are new tests with the RS1 and AC Schnitzer. If the new data is on time it will be implied in my new RS1 damper set. In the mean time the sounds are as bad as in the beginning, so really no "setting" what so ever (driven about 1500km). I have to say the car is far more better in driving conditions over all, very direct and sharp turn in on low speed ( standard set up is al little numb) , a very good road compliance, it does stick to the road and less nervous on high speed and high speed turns !! It is planted !! I want those sounds out of the car, if so, it is a perfect set up !! So good news, if there is any follow up, I will keep you all posted !! |

JRZ USA is based between Wash, DC and Baltimore and they've told me that they'd take a look to make sure everything is ok. Planning to take them up on offer within next couple of weeks. Neil |

+1 I know it s.cks but it is a relief to hear that I`m not the only one with those sounds. This will strengthen my case, i.e. our case ! Quote:
It sounds like there is some loose timber/wood under the front axle (mainly left side ) Last edited by Romo; 03-16-2012 at 02:22 PM.. |

The new JRZ RS 1 damper set is ready, I will make an appointment to installation shortly.
The sounds are so loud an bad that it is noticeable for anybody, even my mother heard it while leaving her from a visit......... I really do hope the new set will solve all the problems...... |
