The v203 maps are a specific fix for the AT models and are only currently available for certain ROM/ECU versions. It does not affect the horsepower/torque gains of the car in anyway, and but does modify the way in which the car shifts.

So you find v203 better than 202 and 201? I thought 202 was lame on my AT, so went back to 201 b/c it felt quicker...how does 203 compare to 201?

1) Connect your COBB AccessPORT via USB to your PC/MAC through the COBB AccessPORT manager.
2) Go into the options tab and check for beta firmware.
3) Go to the update tab and click check for firmware update
4) If you're ECU/ROM is supported, then the v203 maps will be uploaded onto your COBB AccessPORT hand held unit
5) Go to your car and plug the COBB AccessPORT into your OBII port and scroll to the tune menu and select the v203 91 or 93 octane stage 1 map
6) enjoy

Yes, the v203 does feel much better than the v202 maps. I'd recommend that you give it a try!

Does the unit you sent me have the V203 on it or do I need to update it with the new firmware then install??

The v203 is only available through a BETA Map at the moment and is only available for certain ROM/ECU versions. You would have to do this after you received your COBB AccessPORT.

Gotta agree with you here... this thread should not be about "how do I use my AccessPort," or "N55 support?" but unfortunately it has become that way... why do I even bother checking anymore

What type of fuel economy are you guys getting with your new maps when compared to stock? I understand if this is based completely on what map you happen to be running, but in general is it better or worse than stock? Sorry if this is a moronic question, but I am trying to evaluate if I want to grab one of these bad johnsons. Thanks guys!

I had heard that folks with the Dinan Stage 1 were able to get better gas mileage than stock. Correct me if I am wrong, the Cobb AP allows you to run lower octane gas (say, 91) though, right? Anyone know if you get the same fuel economy with that map as you do with a stock map at 93 octane? Thanks.

There are 91 and 93 octane maps... that said, you can run 91 octane on stock... so the Cobb AP doesn't allow you to run "lower octane gas."

If you're after fuel economy, look elsewhere. If you're looking for performance, the Cobb's great.

A little update on my issue, (I was getting a misfire in cylinder 2, only in stg 1). I didn't order new plugs yet but wanted to try something before I did. I took the plug in cylinder 2 and put it in cylinder 1. I reflashed the car and got misfire cylinder 2 AGAIN. I think I'm going to replace the coil pack. Both of the plugs looked nearly the same, not great, but the problem didn't follow the plug, it's still misfiring in the same cylinder.

That sucks, how many miles are on the car and how many miles of those are on the tune? I ask because it might be worth it to change all your plugs anyways. Swap the coilpack from cylinder 2 to 1... see if it follows the coilpack before your spend the money on a coilpack. If it doesn't, it might be the injector (for your sake, I hope not!). Swapping injectors can also be done, but it's not the easiest thing to do.

Switched over to map v203 this weekend. Seems to be a great compromise between v201 (Too much) and v202 (Too little). I think COBB found the sweet spot!

Can Cobb AP handle AMS Catted DP and FMIC? Because I cannot do custom tune at the moment and coming from a Subaru STI I believe in tuning is very important when you have upgrades...
