They look great! Would you say the rear is "close" to not fitting on the outside edge or is it comfortable? Thinking about having some Forgestars made in a +52 so I can run a 20mm front spacer and 0 rear with lots of clearance.

Anxious to get in here. I used to run an 03 WRX Stage III years ago and then quit to build a Birkin S3 (Think Caterham). A separation has forced me to sell that before even driving it though. I am excited to say that I'm the happy owner of a new to me 2008 135i, and will be running in my first local Autox in 4 years this Sunday.
So far she is totally stock, with the exception of a Cobb Stage 1 tune. The tires I'll be running are a bit unconventional as they are Dunlop Sport 600's. They are the stockers for the Subie STI. I'll be investing in my preffered tires and wheels next season. Anyway, just wanted to say hello, thanks for the thread to help with setup, and wish me luck. Now a little eye candy. ^ I dig the red. Was actually thinking about painting my next track set of wheels red.

Thanks. It's just Plasti-dip. The previous owner marred every wheel with curb rash, and one really badly. I did a home fix (JB weld putty) to make them look passable and painted them red/orange to match the interior. Next year will be new tires and wheels. The day I painted them

Honestly don't know. Do you need an inner barrel measurement?

Thanks Kgolf that would help no hurry though I am still around 2-3 months away from that purchase. I was more interested in the k5r but it should be the same fitment.

You use a 8mm spacer in the front to get et33?

How long are your studs? I'm debating ponying up and having a set of Forgestars made, in either something like 17x9 ET50 (then using a 15mm spacer up front), or doing 17x9 ET35 (F), and 17x9.5 ET60 (R). However, I'm leery of using larger spacers, especially on the big track, where I'm routinely getting over 120mph...

I am also considering Forgestars in 17x9 and am thinking about a +52 to allow for tons of room in the rear and an easy spacer in the front (20mm is extremely common). I think custom ordering a non square setup is a huge waste given that the tire wear is going to be an issue and worth having the ability to rotate front to rear for. I suspect in the interim I am just going to order the 17x9 +45s and roll the rear and run a 12mm spacer in the front. Mark |

Good thoughts and opinions, much appreciated. While I like the fact that the 17x9 ET45 is now on the table, wish they had more design options. I'm usually a function dictates form kinda guy, but the new Kosei's just don't do it for me.

Local event at Toledo Express Airport
New wheels/tires are stupid. Seriously stupid. Not even at the knowledge of what the car can do now (only had 3 runs due to size of event). But in so many ways they blow RS3s out of the water. 1st in STX by a solid 0.7 seconds (Full Prep'ed Type R running Rival S Tires). Should be in the top 5 of PAX if all ended as I thought it did...Heat 3 had 1 dry run and got wet, never fully dried after that and heat 4 had semi dry conditions so PAX is kind of skewed |

Well, back after four years, and it felt great. Coming from a Subaru, it amazes me how fast a car can turn. Lol Not one cone on the day!
The day had me increase speed significantly, as I was obviously a bit gun shy at first. I left the traction control set to half off, but fought a lack of traction all day long. I feel new tires are a must, but since it's my daily too, a bit of thought has to go this way. I need dual duty tires at the expense of early tire retirement. Still the worst functioning bit of the setup was the flabby bit behind the wheel. Lol I did have a minor issue I haven't looked into. I threw a code and read it on the AP V3. H29E1. No idea what it is. My car also reset the clock and the trip metre in the process. After clearing the code, I have a service lift on the car. Haven't dug deeper than that so far though. |

What were the weather conditions like for your event? Locally, I'm seeing some people watering their RE71R, and some people not. Want to know what I would be getting into in terms of DE use.

Kyle, could you measure the inner wheel barrel diameter? I want to see if these would clear the 135i 6 pots.
