I paid $92K for my 135i convertible in 08' fully optioned.

Sold 3 years later with 29K kms for $62k.. thats the way it goes..

You have to stick to bricks and mortar for an investment.

Is it always like this? Car depreciates around $10 a year?
So the logic would be get a used one and keep it for many years? Cause otherwise you are always losing a lot of money, if you keep changing every year or so.

or do this.. always limit your cars to ~25k, prices seem to slow down a fair bit at this stage, but even if they tank, the next slow down point is around 15k. so you've only lost 10k over 3-5 yrs.. And by tank i mean (changed importing rules so you can import a crap load of em).

my previous cost me 24k, i sold it for 25k after 3 yrs.. BUT .. i had to do an engine rebuild :P (6k..)

my "bricks and mortar" has cost me a LOT more.. lol..

that's why i dont understand how so many can buy new cars.. its such a massive loss.. but hey.. you only live once! (depending on your religion)
i think this should be another thread though.. i'd love to find out how ppl afford 100k cars with minimal loss!

it's because they either have a lot of disposable income or they tie in their car purchases under a business that might be doing well.

They probably don't...

Ways to minimize the loss but it won't be "minimal" I am sure, they just have a lot of disposable income

FS: BMW Space Saver Wheel & Tyre

Genuine BMW Space saver wheel with brand new tyre, suits 3 series up to 325 and I assume all 1 series up to 125.

Great for those not using run craps when your on a long trip.

Does not suit 335, wont go over the front calipers & scrapes the rear calipers (as I found out the 1 time I tried to use it).

Has never been used, some minor scrapes on the inside where it rubbed my caliper when I did try it a year ago.

$300 OBO, pick up Hornsby area of Sydney or buyer can arrange freight.

Well someone got a good deal.
But you now have a 1M, and you have no idea how lucky you are!

Dont think luck has anything to do with people doing well. It's all doing the hard yards

I agree some people are lucky but others have worked so hard to get to where they are today and to be able to afford awesome cars !

Correct me if i'm wrong

Owning your own business is overrated... you still work for someone, it's called the ATO.
