I have the original Tax invoice somewhere for when the guy bought my 130i, cost him $87,500 in Feb 2006, I bought it March 2009 (after his 3 year lease expired) for $50,000, he probably traded it for $35-$40k on a newly leased X3 cause they overpaid for my Audi S3 by $10k to pay my old loan out.

So in 3 years, he's lost $40k+, and in the 3 years I've had it I've proabaly lost $15, realisitically if I were to try to sell it after my lease finishes I'd be looking at around the $20k mark, as it will have 150,000kms on it by then.

The biggest problem with the 130i is that there is a very specific market for it, you knew exactly what it was when you bought it, and unless you can find someone who is wanting the same thing you wanted, there's nothing to differentiate it between the 118, 120 and 123d (which is an awesome).

You could always keep it and enter it into next years Bathurst 12 hour, there were a couple of 130's in there last weekend. It was exactly what I was thinking when the dickhead dealer offered me $12k for it, I'll turn it into a track beast.

Don't be a rude little kid... The guy has clearly done something right - so try to lean from it - or better yet learn from his mistakes. No reason to be snarky.

Just because you disagree with his view doesn't warrant calling it 'bullshit' and saying nothing else. BBK disagreed with Blondie and explained why.

There's huge difference between voicing your opinion and common courtesy. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Best bit of financial advise is, respect. Especially when it comes to those elder to you. Which, fortunately does not include me.

Not saying blonde hasn't made many valuable posts, but that one was simply "bullshit" nothing more nothing less. Perhaps I should have said it is a pile of smelly stuff :-)

Big fella,

Kenny explained an investment principle in easy to follow language and you try to call him out on it. It's fact. You dont lose on something until you sell it. (unless you are highly leveraged and run your investments on margin or are highly leveraged ).

Shares can lose all value, fact.
Property will always have a value, fact.

Don't bother continuing with your disrespectful behaviour and think you will make friends on here. We are a very small community, and picking on one of the most respected members isn't a good move.

So stfu and go play in traffic.

Lusty before you embarrass your self any further you might want to see a financial advisor and find out some basic investment principals.

Like I said blondy's car posts are rather informative but investment advice is clearly not his (nor yours for that matter) forte.

Flame me all you like but that is the FACTS

No worries mate I obviously have no idea when it comes to investments or investing.

At least I think I'm doing fine and am happy right?

You don't make friends when you don't explain <-- people just think you are a wanker. Noticed the post I made compare to yours above? Which one will people swallow better?

I don't claim to be very good with my investment, but if you think you are better than anyone else, you better come up with some substance to your arguments as well as some manners.
