Any Canadian Users Getting BMW Assist Upgrade?

So, lots of talk on the forums about people loosing their BMW Assist. Users in the US are getting offered an upgraded unit which does not run on the now defunct CDMA network, or offered cash in lieu.

What is happening with Canadian customers? Talked to the BMW Genius, he knew nothing about it. My car is still under warranty till middle of next summer, so BMW should be doing something about it. I use the "send address to car" feature ALL the time.

What say you, eh?

Oh, and it would also be nice if the new "North American" App was available in Canada god dammit, last I checked, Canada was still part of North America. Although, if Trump wins, we may want to try and float off into the Arctic ocean. Thanks BMW Canada.

Well, looks like Canada is not getting the updated COMBOX to allow our cars to connect to 3G.

Rogers is phasing out the 2G network, but not until 2018. 6 months after my car goes out of warranty.

Great, 4 year old car and already loosing its functionality.

I just activated BMW Assist a few weeks ago. I belive the TCU in my car talks with Bell. Cost $199 for a year.
