New SGM 135i Pics Inside

Hi to all,

Great forum here, really helped me in getting deciding the 1er was right for me. Picked up my '09 Space Grey Metallic last week, been enjoying it ever since, definitely the most capable car I have ever owned. I just came from a MKV R32 and thoroughly enjoyed that driving experience but the R32 never seemed to have enough power, the exhaust note was unreal though.

Before settling on the 135i I test drove a variety of rides including, EVO X MR, MKVI GTI, A5 2.0T, Genesis Coupe 3.8 and yes, even a '10 Taurus SHO.

Of the above list I came very close to getting the EVO X but at the end of the day the BMW just delivered the most grins behind the wheel for everyday use. I still might pick up an EVO as a weekend plaything if things go well for me in the coming year but for now I am very pleased with the 135i.

When I picked up the car at Vista in Coral Springs it has obviously been sitting on the lot for quite some time as the battery was dead but I gravitated to the Space Grey car as it only had 80 miles on it vs. 480 on the other Jet Black they had. The paint and trim was pretty well water spotted from getting hit by sprinklers/rain for months and the dealer's "free swirl wash" didn't help things either. The car also unfortunately had the front plate holder mounted up, going to take it off and either go with bumper plugs or a euro plate.

I dropped the car off to get Tinted on Thursday with Derek Papageorge, he's Vista's recommended tint guy (954)218-1818, he did an amazing job using LLUmar 15% tint, he is able to roll the tint on the frameless door glass to make it edge to edge, absolutely amazing watching him do this, not sure if there is anyone in FL that knows this technique. Highly recommended and as you can see from the pics below a very slick look with the Space Grey color.

After tinting, I handed the car over to Shawn at Sully's Detailing http://www.sullysdetailing.com/ to do a full detail, after about 6 hours the car came out amazing. I highly recommend both these guys to anyone taking delivery of a new car, I feel like everything is off to a great start.

Other than the annoying third brake light cracking problem that it seems everyone has and rusting rear wheel hubs, the car is now perfect, looking forward to having lots of fun here and enjoying the car.

I see those damn rusty hubs on so many Bimmers nowadays. I haven't seen much posted here on solutions. Anyone who has this issue and has done something to remedy the problem (paint, etc.) do tell!

Congrats on the ride!

Looks excellent. I am surprised Vista put a front plate on it. I also got my car from Vista (Coconut Creek) and live in Boca too. My 135i sat at their dealership for less then 24 hours though so it was in very good condition to begin with.

Enjoy it.

This is the first thread that I can think of where I didnt call out the SGM thing first.

SGM will always be Graphite, but if we really want to get technical SGM is Steel Grey Metallic.

Had a great time working on your car Mark. You got to hate the swirls the dealer puts on the cars.
