I'm here. Have been waiting for Holtz to get their demos which I think have finally arrived, but now I'm out of town. I always had excellent service from Towne in Buffalo on my Mini and will be speaking with them when the times comes to order to see how they compare with the local dealer.

Finally got in for a test drive this afternoon. Very impressive. Very fast but not at all brutal in the way it goes about things. Pretty easy to zip up to 80+mph on the highway without realizing it.

Hey I am in Saratoga just north of Albany. My sister just moved to Rochester so I will be in the area from time to time. You have Dinan dealer out there correct?

Had a better, more realistic test drive while at Towne in Buffalo. They don't have a 6-speed for demos, but I had a better chance to drive it in a more "spirited" manner.

A few months back there was an announcement that John Holtz was selling off his entire line of dealerships (Porsche, Audi, BMW, Acura,Honda, Mazda, Mercedes). Apparently a deal was close to being made but it fell through. The BMW dealership used to also sell Land Rover, but that franchise was sold off to another dealer in Webster. It's somewhat unclear what's going to happen, but it's pretty certain that Rochester will still have a BMW dealer if Holtz himself gets out of the business. What will happen with the Dinan connection remains to be seen. |

When I went they just had some info on Dinan in the form of brochures etc. I was actually thinking about a Dinan performance upgrade but probably going to wait.
The wait is killing me!!! |

its here
I picked up my 135i Monday night. I gave Holtz a deposit August 31. They could never tell me why it took so long to get here. Only options are paint and performance package, with the manual transmission. Trying to put milage on. The salesman said several times to watch my speed. Even keeping to under 4500 rpm it still moves along. The brakes are unbelievable!! Don't plan on any mods this year, want to try it out first. Hoping for Mosport in July and the Glen in August.

drive
Just got back from a weekend in Vermont. Got to drive a couple of mountain passes and lots of two-lane roads. The car was great, even over rougher surfaces. Never felt like it was "dancing" or jumping around on the bumps and rough pavement. Have sen lots of break dust since picking up the car two weeks ago. Now have over 1200 so I can start running the revs up higher. Third gear over the mountains was good enough. I'm not sure what it will be like using higher revs. The engine pulled good at any level.
The temp gage only got to mid level on the way up the mountains. It dropped a couple of notches as soon as I was over the top. Roads were wet with minor patches of snow occassionally and some fog. What a great car for two lane twisty roads. |
